The entire thing is inaccurate, -4 because of your pathetic lack of understanding, +1 because voting 0 won't lower your rating. How about you stop wasting your time spending money to spread your christian fudamentalism, and instead spend the money to get a real education.

btw, life is versitile, so had earth been closer to the sun, life still may have evolved, it just would have been different. That is why life began as single celled organisms and evolved gradually into more complex creatures so that life could adapt to the enviroment.

Classic case of religion dictating science. The two are seperate, but edifying of one another. Let the scientific explanations be what they are, and you can still claim that God did it. And those who don't believe are flatly irrelevant to your own beliefs. The only reason I can see that would justify your actions of making this is a lack of faith and/or understanding of Christianity.

Illogical arguments. Not saying your beliefs are illogical, but you use logical fallacy to argue a point, and that is wrong and immature. Dont try to trick people into believing in creationism. Also - if your argument cant be tested by science (and god can be neither proved nor disproved by humans) then dont argue about scientific matters like biology, physics, and the origin of life.)

You rambling on about god creating time amuses me. Because the scientific term of time is the gravitational pull on the organism in the expansion of relativity correlation with our sun. Humans created the concept of time out of science lol. You sir better learn your facts before arguing. By the way the bible is horse sh*t made by man also. So don't ever quote it, in an argument or preaching. Also im a christian to and i dont believe this sh*t. OHHH I WENT TO SCHOOL TO BE A PASTOR WHAT NOW BITCHES.

Also all who believe this crap. can suck my cheese it. As for now im going to go induce alcohol created by man to get this crap out of my head and have a good time.

Are you really this stupid, or are you just playing? Malarkey such as this is exactly why the human race is being held back from advancing to its full potential. DO YOU ACTUALLY BELIEVE THE SH*T WHICH YOU YOURSELF SPEW FORTH? You are an embarrassment to the entire human race. Do us all a favor and throw yourself off of the nearest U.S. overpass. And to all of you who are saying right now "b-but the bible says" STFU. The bible was created long ago by man to keep the peasants in order.

You f*cking christians take the bible so literally. Religion is all bullsh*t. All it is is a symbol of hope, regardless of which fairy tale you choose to believe. Realize the truth, and grow a pair. Some people deserve to be rounded up like cattle and shot for the greater good of mankind.

there are things we find difficult to explain, but saying "oh well, it was designed by some super-intelligent omnipotent being" seems like giving up on trying to find out the origins of our universe and life on earth. Have fun living in ignorance sir.

Today, I slipped and accidentally made a cake. After eating some of this cake, I realized that I wasn't being pulled apart by massive fluctuations in gravity. After this, I accidentally went outside and looked at the plants and trees by my house. I realized that they grew so well because the rotation of the earth is so perfect that they get enough daylight and then enough night to feed their chlorophyll cycle so that they can create oxygen and sugars to feed themselves. It's great, because we breathe oxygen
August 12th, 2006
(0)
Then I realized that the mixture of oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, etc. in the atmosphere is so perfect. It doesn't allow fires to burn out of control, and it is enough for humans, animals, and plants. Evolutionists have had 150 years to create a few "scientifically proveable" statements. Creationists have had the answers for way longer. I KNOW where I am going, and no one can change my beliefs. Thank you, Peterguy, for standing up for the faith. Especially in a place like YTMND.

Hey Orlando, you do know your coveted bible says that only 144,000 people will go to Heaven, right? Not 144,000 every year. 144,000 /ever/. Now, it's been 2000 years since the birth of "christ" and there's millions of christians. Now, purely mathmatically, the odds are in favor of you going to Hell instead. ;)
August 14th, 2006
(0)
you cant spell "MORlando" without "moron". Christians love to see any hole they can possibly poke in 'evolution' (even through misunderstanding and strawman argument) as proof of Creationism, as if there aren't hundreds of other faiths they aren't atheists about, as if it isnt possible everyone is wrong.

re: "250,000 to prove evolution" - the guy who runs that site, Kent "Dr. Dino" Hovind is facing 58 federal charges including threatening federal officials and tax evasion. he hasnt paid around half a million in taxes because he is doing 'Gods work' and lives on 'Gods land' not the US. He's an absolute nutball, and that you'd link to him pretty much makes you one by association.

Meh, some people just don't understand. There's really no point in argueing with them either, simply because they will hold on to their far-fetched creationist theories for as long as possible and take all the bible says literally. Basically, they are trying not to believe.
August 16th, 2006
(0)
I specifically registered just to vote on this site. Too bab a lot of people can't be bothered to open their minds just a tiny bit, but it just shows their intelligence level. I love the satire, and think you have done a wonderful job. Keep up the good work!
August 16th, 2006
(0)
Oh, and another thing. It's great to see that you are not intimidated by the overwhelming force of those who disagree and try to bring you down. Bravo!
August 17th, 2006
(0)
LoneWolf50k, with all due respect, this isn't an issue of non-creationists having open minds or intelligence. Peterguy misconstrues the question. He shows no understanding for accepted theories and would rather refute what he thinks the theories are. It's nothing more than an insult. No one believes that atoms "decide" to do things, or that creatures "decide" to become other creatures. I could bastardize Christianity and refute my own false version of it, but I hardly believe it'd be fair. Think about it.

August 17th, 2006

Wargasim, it's a satire. I saw nowhere where it was offically stated "This is what ____ theory is about" or something to that extent. Could you please point it out? Or is it just the fact that this man has religous convictions and a strong opinion and cares to show it on this particular medium?
August 17th, 2006
(0)
I like it a lot
August 17th, 2006
(0)
I don't think this is a satire. Peterguy wants to portray an existence without god as impossible, but all he does is knock down a straw man. I could say it's stupid to believe that cars run on penicillin, and while I'd be correct, it doesn't mean anything because nobody believes that. Believing in god is preferable to the alternative posed in this site, but it's a forced choice. That's not the only alternative to beliving in god. Just like I don't need to be threatened by theism if I don't like this site.

I quote Hamblurger: "That's idiotic. Biggest waste of money ever. You see... I have this theory that science is devoted to the pursuit of knowledge, whereas religion is devoted to the rejection of knowledge- Rather than try to explain why and how things happen, the religious just pan everything they don't know off to some big invisible person floating in the sky. It makes no sense at all."
August 24th, 2006
(0)
Very clever. You put your point across very well, and it's also good to see you responding to people's arguments. I'm a philosophy student, and I have to say that your ideas are a load better than most philosophers I study. Belief or disbelief lies with the individual.

Evolution isn't based on chance, it's based on necessity. This is completely inaccuate historically. Spout your religious propaganda somewhere else.
August 29th, 2006
(0)
peterguy, I don't understand why you have such a strong belief in your god. what have you witnessed, made you appreciate it so much, that you devout your life to worship, spend money on the internet to try and convert others, and to be stubborn that god is god no matter what. or were you just raised that way and choose not to be open minded? Enlighten me please.
August 29th, 2006
(0)
Hay guyz what’s going on? IMO Xsasuke12X's comments are some of the most refreshing to be found here. (Those that are so angered by this Gif and.wav music file are overreacting just as much as the average religious extremist”) Also enjoyed cinnamonroffle's "Can't we all just admit that we really know jack sh*t about the universe and just laugh it off?"
August 29th, 2006
(0)
The author of this YTMND reminds me of someone in their late teens who needs to have more exposure to the world outside his youth group. His way of communicating his faith evident from some of his comments reflects an embarrassing immaturity (unbeknownst to him.)
August 29th, 2006
(0)
Many of the atheist “extremists” here are likely college students who get their kicks mocking people like Peter while attempting to run intellectual circles around him. Their attitude doesn't always stem from a genuine intelligence and curiosity, but rather stems from a similar immaturity. Both parties are annoying.
August 29th, 2006
(0)
Hmm. After actually viewing this YTMND I appreciate that it's lighthearted and whimiscal overall - nowhere near as preachy and intense as the debates going on in this comments section. This puts a bit more of the weight of my immaturity statements on the side of the so-called atheist extremists, those who were overly angered by it in the first place. Also c*cks.
August 29th, 2006
(0)
lol, extremism from both ends. This YTMND wasn't meant to carry a full-on debate. It actually sounded a little Adams-ian in its light-hearted poke at humanity and their beliefs. Comments such as "zoMG he vaguely described the idea of a god!1!! DiE!!!" and the uneedingly serious ones from people who actually understand the subject are kind of ironic in that light. Not that I'm saying "OMG I can't think of an explanation it must be God's doing!1!!" and I understand that given an infinite number of chances
August 29th, 2006
(0)
something is bound to happen. But the comments from the "atheist extremists," a term which I am using but do not endorse, are overly arrogant and immature, considering the tone of this YTMND. I thought scientists were supposed to be curious, ordered and open-minded, not bullies who try to prove their superiority by running mental circles around those who do not agree with them. But this site still stinks a bit of propaganda, since Peter's take on evolution lacks accuracy. Also, trying to convert.
August 29th, 2006
(0)
OMG TRIPLE COMMENT!!! Anyway, Peterguy's strong undertone of "Well, I haven't seen a good explanation for this, so I'm gonna' tell you that there is a God and you should follow no matter what you believe otherwise you're just being ignorant" is also immature. My advice: go out, see the world outside your faith, don't think about it while you are, then you can come back whenever you want to. Believe whatever you want to, just see everything else along the way. Hell, that's what I did.

Even though I've already commented and no one is going to pay attention to some 1voter, I have another misconception to point out. You use the phrase "in the begining there was nothing". This statement is not provable, and some models of the universe (such as a closed model) suggest there was never "nothing". Just wanted you to know about something that you may have not considered.
September 9th, 2006
(0)
LOL DjDTM, pure gold. Peterguy, your ytmnd has so many flaws its hard to start listing them. If you had took grade 8 science you would have known about atoms, particles, and life on earth being created. Everything started from a single, singularity. Not this magical invisible god creature (THAT HASN'T EVEN BEEN PROVED OR EVER SEEN, TO DATE.) SO, we have two choices here: 1)everything was created by some magical space wizard that just HAPPENED TO BE ALIVE BEFORE ANYTHING WAS CREATED (who came up with that idea?) OR 2)A singularity started the generation of the universe (more plausable idea) and a series of realistic events lead up to new creations and earth. Beliving in god is like beliving in scientology, both are fake scams to brainwash lesser individuals
September 9th, 2006

"beautiful YTMND and you know it." Actually, it is quite hideous. As I said, white text on a starfield does not work, since the stars blend in too much BTW, "dr dino" is a the least credible source for any of this, since he is hardly objective. BTW, prove god exists. Thats right, you can't.

Go look up the anthropic principle. Life existing on this planet is not a godly miracle - life existing on this planet occured because this planet is able to support life. Perterguy you need to read and understand this if you insist to keep making things like this: http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/ Please, please read and understand this before you try to argue again.

To Peterguy, about your post where you link to some guy who will give 250 000$ to anyone who can prove evolution is true: The reason evolution is often contested as a scientific theory is that it is not contestable. Denying evolution is saying that a retarded, 1 legged grab that's on fire and sexually attracted to its predators has the same chances to survive as any other crab. Don't try to rebutt it, don't try to ask questions, just don't. Evolution simply says that the most fit survive and transmit their genes, as only they manage to survive and reproduce.

I'm sorry but you could have at least found out SOMETHING about biology before you made this. "Birds turned into animals"? WTF does that mean? And as for evolutionists/creationists/whatever; I will say as a Christian and as a biologist that this is a terrible depiction of both views. Intelligent design: Reducing our Creator to a designer and reducing science to uneducated assumptions.

I concur with peter, in the beginning there was absolutley nothing...and something cannot be created out of nothing, it never will and never could be, except by God, so there.

Most of the people who gave this site a 1 said some funny things For example "Very very narrow minded half-assed presentation of some half-assed philosophical discussions." I find it ironic that you should call anything closeminded becuase thats exactly what you are... I believe faith (or lack there of) is a personal thing, and spreading it gets messy, and you end up with the wrong message. And I would like to be informed of any scholarly material that denounces creationism, or promotes (for lack of a better word) nothingism. I believe no one can fathom how nothing can truely become something, or the Pre-Big Bang thoughts. PM me have critique. Dont PM me if you are gonna flare / troll / hate / NEDM.

As i've explained on the 'why god exists' site, something cannot come from nothing, so either a universe always existed or God always existed. You just have to ask yourself which is more likely, that there is no meaning behind existence or that there is.

But the poor non-human animals, too stupid to comprehend Something creating Everything. Oh well, I guess they just get the short end of the stick. Technically speaking though, this was very well made. I liked it better than "The Fifth Element". Good job!

"Choices: God or Nothing" Here's the grand fallacy. There's more then two choices. There's a third, logical, and true choice: The universe exists for some reason that is beyond our current understanding, perhaps even beyond our very comprehension. This is not a logical reason to assume that some all powerful being created it. In fact that seems highly unlikely.

Your argument fails at the point where you claim the Earth is such a great place for human beings... it isn't. Do you live in a f*cking cave? No you have to build a house to live in from the materials of the Earth to shelter yourself from the cold nights and harsh storms. If you want to make that argument than it would seem that God's chosen beings were f*cking beetles and insects, not humans. Insects vastly outnumber us, are better suited to survive in natural environments and are the backbone of every

Mega YTMND Strawman. 1'd till you learn what the Big Bang and Evolution actually are. And seriously, "It just happened" makes a f*ckload more sense than "A GIANT MAN IN THE SKY MADE IT SO". math. the universe has so many planets that life probably exists here and there and everywhere. i know you want to believe that you will never really die. but you are going to die. die for real. even if you dont thinks so because your awesome life cant have happened just by chance. but there is ZERO evidence that it didnt. entropy is a certainty.
