With regards to the Galaxy that shouldn't exist, this may be due to the fact the galaxy is near the outer edge of the universe, and exists at at time when the universe was only 800 million years old. Our current theories of physics only apply to the universe as we know it, gravity for example, might work slightly differently closer to the big bang. Who knows.
One of my teachers was once telling my class something he read about other life and stuff. He said that a probable amount of other life that hasn't destroyed itself with all the other possible solar systems like ours is only 3. 3 other forms of life in a universe this huge is impossible to understand, its kinda scary to think that most others would have destroyed themselves if that theory is correct.
Just remember that you're standing on a planet thats evolving and revolving at 900 miles an hour, its orbiting at 90 miles a second so its reckoned, a sun that is the source of all our power. The sun and you and me, and all the stars that wecan see are moving at a million miles a day. In an outer spiral arm at fourty thousand miles an hour, of a galaxy we call the milky way....
If the universe is infinite, then somewhere out there theres a planet exactly like this one, with this exact same website, and me posting this same comment, except voting a 1 instead of a 5. And that will be the only difference for all of time, everything else between our two worlds will be the same. If the universe is infinite that is.
Cool stuff, although I kinda knew the scale of the universe from my astrophysics class, so I'm not shocked and amazed by this (hence the 4). It's too bad God created all this useless excess matter instead of converting it to food & medicine that would've saved the 10 000+ children who died yesterday. Also, black holes.
MasterSh*tsu says "i'm sorry, i cant support this. its a nice little presentation but this is
so old to me, soo old, and i think its actually been on YTMND before as
well... is this stuff really such a surprise to you guys?" ... And this is any older than splicing a 80's startrek episode with a mid 90's mentos commercial? F*cking Hypocrite. Do any of you actually realise how much is an ego c*ck this f*cking f*g is?
We're not alone in the universe. The simple reason we have not encountered anyone else is because of the [Prime Directive]. Alien societies are forbidden to interfere with our current way of life until we have reached a point in time when their aid would be more appropriate. If anyone watches TNG, this would be more obvious.
Loadman: "It's too bad God created all this useless excess matter instead of
converting it to food & medicine that would've saved the 10 000+ children who died yesterday" -- you know, dude...for all we know, WE are just a load of excess matter that could have been put to better use in this unimaginably vast universe.
Look, this site is a solid YTMND from a production aspect. I can't bring myself to downvote the concept either. But, as many have pointed out, all this site does is regurgitate well known astronomical facts in a short film. This is an entertaining YTMND to watch, and certainly more creative than 9/10th of the garbage on the front page, but it does not belong in the top five.
