i have to say, this is well researched, with credible sources (including fbi files and scholarly findings). You have done three things. First, you have shown clear effort. Second, you brought to light wrong doings by a dangerous cult. Third, you've demonstrated that you are a true fan of YTMND. If it wasnt for the rating system here, i would easily give you a 6 or 7. 5 for your sir!
I'm perfectally allowed to have my opinions on how freaking screwed up some fools are. Christian Scientists or Alternitive Medicine folks are good examples. They pray and do everything to watch thier children and clients die an agonizing death due to something that might either be cured or at least posponed(cancer is a good example.)
WWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I'm not really sure how much of this I believe... but I wouldn't be SURPRISED if at least most of it was true. I don't care about Scientology anyway, there are more dangerous things in the world, but you get a 5: 5 for music, -1 for not looping well, +1 for managing to fit such a large .gif into YTMND's filesize reqs.
Kuma, the stories in that video are direct results of the ideals and doctrines of Scientology. He didnt even mention the huge list of suicides because people were either escaping debt, "woke up" and realized their life was ruined, or became severely depressed. This has nothing to do with a few bad eggs. Its a brainwashing cult, plain and simple, and the tragic side-effects negate whatever "good" it set out to do for humanity.
Okay, heres my point. As a result of the beliefs of the church, the scientologists that locked her in the room thought they were doing the right thing. Its a well known fact that Scientology doesnt believe in psychiatry and they thought "this" would be the treatment she needed. Priests don't rape little boys in the name of god. They do it cause they chose the wrong career and they need to get some ass, hence a few bad eggs, whereas Scientology tragedies are a result of beliefs, not hormones.
How the hell do extremist terrorists represent the whole of a religion? You're twisting my words so you can ignore the points I'm making. sh*t, they make you sign a waiver for the introspection rundown. Have you ever signed a waiver for anything for any religion? Wtf is that? These are not acceptable practices of a religion. If you don't think its a brainwashing cult, you're a damn fool. Watch the orientation video for christ's sake.
How did I get wrapped up in this conversation with you? Anyone who thinks you've been brainwashed is declared a suppressive person and is cut out of your life, even friends and family members. They dont believe in psychology! How perfectly convenient for a cult! Do I even need to list the tragic side-effects that happened as a result of these beliefs?
An unfunny site at YTMND. Out of place ... still glad ya made it. Scientology is actively harming people and should not their actions should not be tolerated just because they are inspired by 'religeous belief' Hell, the KKK is a religeous organization, should they get away with it out of tolerance? Hell no!
Kuma, I dont know how much simpler I can make it. Scientology does not believe in psychology! Scientology seperates families! Do you know how many tragedies could have been averted if this was not the case? If you don't think its a brainwashing cult, maybe you need to watch the orientation video again.
Church spokespeople claim that Hubbard's teachings (called "technology" or "tech" in Scientology terminology) have saved them from addictions, arthritis, depression, learning disabilities, mental illness, cancer, homosexuality and other perceived problems HAHAHA!! (from the very interesting wikipeda article.)
"Psychiatry is not a god-given truth -- It's
constantly changed throughout history" As has every single science out there. Science changes. And as for the "fitting soceities view of sanity" I think a few constants (Not killing people/self, purposfully causing self pain) have really been the focal point of psychiatry
speaking as a member of the Mormon faith, I gotta say i'm not too big a fan of this scientology bashing.
I'm not a fan of scientology either.
It's just that, as a Mormon, there are tones of "true stories" that get passed around and cause a lot of damage. Some are even *gasp* reported in the news *end gasp*
And in very rare cases, it will turn out that some bishop did do something bad. But, there are even about half of them that are made up- form letters designed to shake faith.
Now, granted these claims against scientology could be true. the could be false. I don't perosnally know and neither does anyone but those involved, really.
So, I don't approve of the overall message, but I don't dissaporve ultimately because sometimes the truth will squeak through the hype... and that's the important part.
Which picture are you referring to? The one with the guy's skin burned off? What you are calling sick is the context it is in, I have seen 500 times worse in all forms of horror movies and just plain mutilation pictures. And as it is the context that is the problem, that really means it's in your mind because the warning label is specific about the picture.

no you didnt theshadowman. There are only about 5,000 members even qualified for the origin media. Do you all really think that the secrets to scientology would be based on something thats published and open to the public? Do you really think Beck and composer john willaims would beleive such a story? Every church needs money, Mormons give 10 percent of their income as tithing. A new Religion like scientology needs to charge for it's services, it's a secret religion not cult.
um, Pherguson, if you havent noticed, scientology STOLE this money. it wasnt donated willingly, unless we all donate fifty THOUSAND DOLLARS to our local church everyday, which im sure we're not all high income level users. no one donates that amount of money unless they're well off, and why did lisa get charged for her cassette player?
yeah im sure you know what your talking about. Getting Interviewed and reviewed is the only cost to becoming a scientologist. There is no membership fee or monthly fee.
It's very independent. The only costs are for the people's time(who have jobs and families unlike clergy) to review those interested in becoming more involved with the church. You Dunderheads still don't get that this information is based on the prosecutors breifings, it has not been proved in court, civil or criminal.
