Max's news update was informational and interesting. Made me feel bad. Here's some money Max.

From the AdSense Page: "Advertisers can also bid to appear on your site on a CPM (cost per thousand impressions) basis. Both CPC and CPM bids compete in our AdWords program to ensure that you optimize your ad revenue." I know that Max specifically said before that us going around clicking ads does not help; though he may have said that because the terms of use of AdSense says you are not allowed to say anywhere on your page anything asking people to click the ads.
On most CPC ads, google tracks ROI. This means if YTMND has a large amount of people who click ads but don't follow through with buying the product, in the long run we get lower quality ads. So basically clicking ads for the hell of it (while against the terms of service) is only a short term increase in revenue, but it evens out in the long run. Plus it gets me in trouble.
The adds fit in so nicely I hardly notice them anymore.. easy to phase out. I can see why people use the blocker for other video sites (most of them are terrible compared to this). Does whitelisting give the site the same amount of money? If so, Gendo might i suggest editing it to say "Join Me or Whitelist"?
did you guys even read the passage? we regulars aren't the source of income anyway. the anti-yfly sites did spread a negative attitude toward the ad-revenue system, but as long as the ad-clickers are still clickin...in other words, there's no point in getting rid of your ad blockers if you don't click on some ads and pretend to act interested.
max dude..what are you doing? what happened to the wise up news post. And whats with not letting us comment on it. Instead you tell people to go to the forums because you know barely any1 is signed up there. you just get the usual losers who lurk there and share inside cack jokes. put the post back up and let us comment. do you wanna become digg or something? i smell sell out.
Ads are annoying, but unfortunately, you wouldn't know half of what you know if it wasn't for advertising. I am not just talking about banners, pop-ups, or sneaky little YFLY corner triangles, but billboards, television commercials, newspaper advertisements, etc. It pays the rent, the bills, and for your sorry *ss coming here. Just f*cking deal with it. Also, c*cks.
What about me? I don't have AdBlock, I have NoScript blocking annoying scripts and other bad things. It is set to allow YTMND.com, but by default it blocks googlesyndication.com and google-analytics.com - both of which are the actual source of google AdSense advertisements, to prevent me from being bugged on other sites. Thus my problem: I wish to allow advertisement on YTMND, but nowhere else. How do I do that?
I've never used an extension in Firefox (I prefer the perfect simplicity of stock 1.0.7 - though I've unfortunately had to upgrade to 2.*) I haven't used IE in ages, and outside of YTMND, I mainly use Opera 9.*. I have no use for ad blocking software. My mind has been trained to block out ads since 1995 when I first went online.
Well, AdBlock just doesn't *show* you the ads; the code is still loaded. So wouldn't pay-per-page-load ads be unaffected? (Look at the page source and you can still see all the code.) Unless I'm wrong and it just skips the code entirely...
But yeah just whitelist it, people. Max is getting tired of Mac & cheese and ramen! :(
