Interesting too that there are an estimated 5 times more Mac-aimed malicious programmers now than before OSX came out. If they're so easy to make, than it's only a matter of time before a bad OSX virus comes along. The no-virus claim is about the here and now, not the future. If you made viruses, and wanted to affect the most people, what OS would you aim at? The one with 6-7% of the market share or the one with 90% of it?

The Mac fanboys in here are so funny.
"Hi, I'm a Mac user. I am very well educated, and I have very good grammar. Still yet, I can't help but be an ignorant moron by not getting that this site is not anti-Mac. I sit on my superior Apple computer that cost me much more than an equivalent PC would. So in order to make up for the feeling of being ripped off, I have to make comments that make me feel smart for buying the hunk of junk."

Many Macintosh users fall into the trap they are somehow more intelligent because they use a Mac instead of a Windows-Based machine. The truth of the matter is, both are PC's since PC stands for Personal Computer. I win.
In either case, many Mac users are asshats because they think that not playing video games makes them smarter. Get your head out of your *ss and have some fun, please, you're only human.

I went to the Apple store the other day to get something for my iPod (they are ok, but iTunes sucks) and I decided to try one of the desktops they got sitting in there, so I opened up Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (only decent game on it) and it ran horribly. And that game is like 7 years old. Sad. The only good Apples are IIgs and Mac SE.

mac is only good for one gay bundle called ilife and its for idiot who want to think they are profesional artists and want bubbly memory hog interfaces to make them think they are in the future when they are changing the contrast on their pictures of their cats. If mac is so great why do they have to work to be compatible with everyone else and why do they need pc parts to do it. Does pc need sh*t so they can run mac programs ? NO THEY HAVE WHAT THEY NEED! So mac has to beg and say...

their advertisement is exaggerated to hit a market of gullible young consumers. computers crash, macs and pcs alike. and they crash becuase of abuse. PCs are more prone to abuse cause morons like to click the pretty flashing "you won a bigger penis" link. give it time. developers will realize that the retard market is growing for viruses and spyware on macs.

Own a Mac, hate these commercials. Only thing is the my iMac 2.0 Ghz Dual Core Duo with 2 gigs of ram, Radeon x1600, and bootcamp running XP plays most game fairly well on Med-High settings. I barely ever PC game cuz i reserve those right to my 360,PS3, and Wii but atleast you get the point i'm trying to make.

lol @ all the comments. 1/4th are mac users going "but with bootcamp of parallels you can run windows natively, so all runs great" or "i dont use it for games?". 3/4th are pc users going "LOL TRUE", "Everything from apple sucks" or "All mac users are such elitist f*gs". Unfortunately, the mac users seem to be generally just stating facts, PC users seem to be posting biased opinions. And before someone calls me a mac f*g, this is posted with PC.

PCs are great for games but they lack somethings that macs have. One for instance is originalaty. Mac owners know that Mac OS x has a little cool thing called widgets. The long awaited Windows Vista has alittle something called Gadets. The big deal? Windows riped off Macs. Proof? Macs had widgets for a few years now. Graphicly Macs allways were better. Many computer animations were done with macs. But PCs, in the end, rock for all the hardcore gamers and nerds. Also the prices for macs start at $500.

Macs are obviously better. That's why they have a puny user-base despite the fact they make those commercials, which totally mislead people. I will admit that the "games argument" is retarded. In fact, it's almost as bullsh*t as the "Macintosh is so secure/no virus" argument. Face it people, a virus is nothing but malicious code that executes itself, they can exist on any OS. It's just Mac's smaller user-base that leaves less people to exploit, and thus less people exploiting.

This only made me laugh because the argument is f*cking stupid. That is ALL PCs have going for them, and even so the games on consoles are better. I much prefer having a secure, reliable computer than a virus laden, crashtacular computer with a few games.
I have used Macs for thirteen years and I have not had a SINGLE virus.
Reliability is FAR more valuable than any game.

How about reliability AND games? I've used windows for 8 years, and I have never had a virus either. I've had a little spyware, but it's easy as anything to remove in only a few minutes. While I don't feel this in any regard is an argument that everyone should get a PC, I do think this YTMND is funny and 4 worthy.

Same here, I got my own PC and I've had no problems with it. The difference between PCs and macs is not only the games though, but the prices too. The mac side only sells macs while the PC side also sells parts to it such as GFX, SFX, etc. Not only that, but the PC has been able to do everything I needed it to do (play WoW BC and run a TV tuner). PCs can be used for just about anything a mac is for. Macs, on the other hand, are for people who enjoy working. The editing programs on macs are unbelievable.

Hate the commercial, but it's a joke not to be taken literally, you would have to be naive to do so. The games argument is pretty irrelevant, especially with Bootcamp. As for the market share issue, Apple sacrifices a lot for their focus on quality and innovation. You don't see everyone driving ferraris, do you? Also, Security and stability is better on OS X, it's been proven time and time again. If your a hacker, why not be the first to infect an OS?

Mac is not anymore secure than Windows. If you believe so, it shows that you are ignorant enough to believe everything those commercials say. So far there have been 16 exploits found in Mac OS X that cannot be patched.( http://secunia.com/product/96/ ) Mac OS X is UNIX for people who have extra money in their wallet, and the mental equivalence of a toddler. You would be far better off dual-booting FreeBSD with Windows, you would actually learn a few things about computers.

For f*cking sh*t, Mac lovers, open your goddamn eyes! Can't you see that your statements of "Mac can do that now with bootcamp" are pure idiocy?! The argument is what can do what. Or in this case, what does way more, and better than what. The fact that your Windows partition in bootcamp can run games, doesn't mean you're running them on a mac. No. You're running them on Windows. Therefor, Macs CANNOT run all the games Windows can.

And it's pretty much decided, that you can find programs that do the same thing on either OS. Since Windows more widely used than Mac, the 3rd Party freeware and commercial software base is much larger. So, in your opinion: Do I buy a Mac for over $200, then get bootcamp, and then buy a copy of Windows XP for another $200? Or do I just buy one PC, one OS(Windows), and get everything I want?

Macs are not less virus prone. Nobody wants to write a virus for a Mac. And, just so you know, in my entire career using Windows, which is about 10 years, give or take, I've only gotten 2 viruses. The first was harmless, and the second was a worm. It was my own fault that I decided to use a Key-Gen. Macs are not more stable. Windows XP does not crash itself, contrary to popular belief. Something else has to, i.e. faulty drivers, or program instability. Not Windows XP.

So you Mac fanboys can sit there, and drool all you want at your shiny interface and attractive effects (which all use up extra CPU power, mind you), while I'll be here, playing HL2, FEAR, Counter-Strike, Quake, Garry's Mod, Doom 3, Duke Nukem, Guild Wars, etc. No strings attached. No other OS to buy. No whining online about how I COULD do that, but won't because I don't have the extra money for a copy of Windows. I've got it good. And I'll do some business work. Be productive while I'm at it, right?

"alright site, nice premise poorly done i think... BTW, i am a mac user with
a new MacBook Pro, Right now i am dual Osing and can boot up from either
Mac or Windows... Not only that, but my windows os runs faster on my mac
than most high end PCs... dont beleive me, look it up yourself, Macs FTW" Alright, so I'll buy a mac and ditch the OS for Windows. Sounds good to me. Windows + 1.

Hahaha. True well atleast used to be. I am a Mac user, and I just built a pc with XP on it. OSX platform is far superior in every way possible(except maybe for selection of games). If half life and counter and all those games were ported over to the OSX platform, Macs would run it better and faster. Also Macs don't get viruses. Within the first hour of internet browsing on XP I opened up adaware and ooh look, 5 new potentially dangerous items. BTW my PC is Top of the line.
MACS ARE THE WAY OF THE FUTURE

audiophile I didn't even bother looking at it as that's cute that they found a couple exploits but it hardly matters, theres over 100,000 viruses on a PC, PC's may have better graphics cards and sometimes faster processors, but in the end their inferior operating system (that is million of lines of code longer than macs, thus, macs=faster) is just poorly designed, windows vista is nothing but a pathetic rip of mac os x, there is no demand for PC's to run mac os x because it is just not an option for them,

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

What is funny about this is that it is so goddamned true.
And by the way, macs are more expensive than an avereage pc for less performance. Its also sad that the diehard mac fans spin themselves into a fit when someone attacks their system, when every single mac advert attack PCs with comercials that dont go beyond "HURRRR PCs ARE UNTRENDY AND TEH SUXORS".

stinkycheeseman, your comments are no less opinionated than you said mine were, and you still didn't prove any of my points wrong. Nonetheless, I'll let you go play with your overpriced mac. Oh, and in 11+ years of PC use, I've gotten just one trojan horse from not updating antivirus for a while. I've never had a crash, either. I'd like to see OSX run with 100,000 viruses targeting it. And I will admit that I was wrong on one thing: Apple actually has 2% of the market share, not 6-7%.
