1'd for bringing attention to this. Content theft should just occur without any reprocussions. Timbaland, like Eric, knows that because of his backing (and ESPECIALLY being backed by record labels), that no one would dare sue him, as the legal costs would be more than they could possibly recover. Let the smart thieves get off scott-free and stop making these damn sites.

Tempest holds copyright to this song the instant he created it. He did *NOT* give it to the Public Domain (which is a different thing entirely) - he simply gave up his rights to pay for people to listen to it. If Timbaland claims all copyright for the song ("Exclusive, original ringtone!") then he violated Copyright Law. That's it.
He. Broke. The. Law.
But hey, "Screw the rules, I have money!"

Nothing personal; the negative reaction is mostly aimed at the screaming VOAT % idiots who spammed this thing way the f*ck up there. It's called sampling, it happens all the time, let's move on as a society please. It's a good song.
Also, to morons who don't know otherwise, it's not a rap song, not even by a faint stretch.

QUOTE: "black ppl steal everything? everone steals from everyone, white ppl stole
alot too.. umm lemme see... land...cultiure (rock n' roll music was founded
by blaack ppl it derived from the blues look it up on wikipedia) I guess
white ppl just are better at covering the fact that they steal o.O" I KNOW THAT DEBATES ON A YTMND FORUM ARE KIND OF POINTLESS, BUT I CAN'T RESIST BURNING YOU WITH A RESPONSE...

Damn, so rap has got another one? The big labels always seem to do this these days. Half of the stuff being produced is either totaly ripped (rarely) or heavily 'inspired' by classic stuff. It must realy suck to be a small time dude, and get your stuff stolen years later by gigantic, faceless corperations who can destroy you by whistleing into a phone.
