amazing!!!Great job!!!Your knowlage is massive, but...one or two erors in this over all, this make sanyone think about their lives, is it really worth going to work, if this will happen like it says it will? Hey if the earth goes inot the sun there is no reason to go to work :P
5 stars for owning the world

"◄Consider this: Cries of the infidels speaks of our destruction if our sin is not paid for, and this YTMND speaks of our destruction if we don't do something. People just don't want to admit that they aren't consistent.►" They aren't the same, moron. You talk about suffering and burning and pain and torture forever and ever. This doesn't. It talks about the distant future of our race, long after we are gone. F*cking die, you religious freak.
All the random thing that could hapen in those billion's and billions of years, this seemed to sum up multiple theories and past observations to give some idea of what might happen. This was put together very nicely btw. :) I really could care less what happens to the earth 100+ years from now for obvious reasons...
You know.. All this information on these scientific YTMND's is old news for me (still cool though). I just never realized until i started reading the comments for them how few people actually know this stuff. I always thought this was all common knowledge. Doesn't anyone ever watch the Discovery Channel or (god forbid) read a book?
So basically, in a billion or so years(1.1 I think it said? Or maybe 4.1) the Earth is f*cked.
I like to think though that in way less than that, if a way exists, be it from stuff on Earth or from contact with aliens or what have you, to stop any of this from happening, we'll find it way before then. I mean, look at what we've done in just 2000 years. Unless we blow each other up in a nuclear world war III, I foresee humans creating the technology to colonize other worlds and stop this sort of stuff.
Chances are very slim that the human race will become virtually invincible through widespread expansion and technological advancement without being completely wiped out first, most likely by ourselves. However, with the way medical research is going, hopefully many of us young today will live to see many centuries ahead.
Stephen Hawking thinks "we need to start planning for the survival of the human race to other star systems... if we don't kill each other within the next 100 years".
So true. My biggest fear is a full global scale nuclear war. I fear that more than a supervolcano, large asteroid, gamma ray burst, alien invasion, nanotechnology AI, andromeda, the Sun's Red Giant phase, or any other doomsday scenario.
By the way.. do you guys know about the supervolcano beneath yellowstone national park? It's on a 600,000 erruption cycle, and it hasn't errupted for 640,000 years. Making it 40,000 years overdue. If it errupts.. It could cover the globe in ash and block out the sun causing a volcanic winter and wipe out many species... perhaps even humans.... pretty creepy.
There's only one problem to this theory. It can't happen if we blow ourselves up or some natural disaster like say a meteor hits the Earth. I mean, if the Earth was protected, then we could most likely see this accurance, but if we do build space colonies, I'm not sure if it would be wise to stay around our galaxy.
Well said, we need to get our act together so we can continue life. The fact that we emerged, no matter what the cause, is quite insane, considering the galaxy's past; we need to get prepared for some REAL cataclysms, so life is not totally distinguished forever. Out of 15-20 billion years (and an infinity pre-singularity), there's been about 1 million years involving conscious thought. We need to extend that.
Actually there needs to be a few revisions. You see, Galaxies have black holes at their cores that become bigger as they consume neighboring stars. These black holes over time attract one another. Potentially, all the mass that ever was will end up in the core of a Black Hole. Once it reaches that point... It begins again.
God we are so f*cked. Not from the sun, but I read the supervolcano in yellowstone comment above, plus all the other good points made. If sh*t really hit the fan (which we soooo owe it to luck that it hasn't yet), I highly doubt we'd really be able to pull it together to survive. F*cking humans... sigh...
Ugh. I was going to come here to comment on a great YTMND, and I see Whetstone in here spouting crap as usual. So, Whestone, since you can no longer f*ck up YTMND by making sh*tty sites, now you're going to f*ck up YTMND by making sh*tty comments? Listen. This YTMND speaks of real, proveable scientific facts, not unprovable religion. And this YTMND has nothing to do with religion at all. It's about space and galaxies colliding and other epic things like that, not stupid religious crap.
Get a clue, Whetstone, look at all the people on YTMND who are telling you to leave, and take a hint. Now, on to the YTMND itself. Epic. Win. 5. Great job. Nice image composites. Good music, good message, cool-looking images. About the continents coming together, though, wouldn't they be moving in OPPOSITE those directions? Wouldn't North America be colliding with Japan? I mean, they were one supercontinent in the beginning, then they split apart making the Atlantic Ocean, so it seems that your diagram is
backwards. But, nonetheless, awesome and epic YTMND. One other comment I wanted to make is a suggestion that you insert more scenes in the beginning about the nearer future - such as exactly what the burning of fossil fuels and/or nuclear warfare will do to the ecosystem, and THEN launch into the rest of the future. Just a suggestion.
Again, not to be Mr. Always-Correct, but I found this image http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/85/Global_plate_motion.jpg and it seems that the plates are definately moving opposite of the way you have indicated. Unless, for some reason, the plates are going to suddenly decide to change direction at some point?
I know 4 comments already is pushing it, but I have one more comment to make. "Why should I be worried about something that will happen 7 billion years from now?" The idea is that if you're not selfish, and care about the human race, then you'll want to make sure your descendants will survive to see the future - that the human race will survive long enough to get off the planet and colonize other planets, etc. How do you make sure the human race survives that long? Stopping war and pollution is one start...
"◄Consider this: Cries of the infidels speaks of our destruction if
our sin is not paid for, and this YTMND speaks of our destruction if we
don't do something. People just don't want to admit that they aren't
consistent.►" - Your version of destruction involves metaphysics. This version of destruction involves astronomical physics. One has more weight in the eyes of a given population than the other. Anyway, +1 for presentation values, +1 for being interesting. That's it.
I don't know where you got your data, but the sun should be to the size of a white dwarf within the next 5 billion years, not 6.7, based on currect calculations. It is also the general speculation the Earth will NOT be consumed by the sun. It should stop expanding within a distance just great enough not to completely incinerate the Earth to nothing, but still turn the entire planet into a sea of fire and lava.
I'll be dead or alive when this will hapen, otherwise, i'll be surely on another planet seeing the collapse or just playing video game/fighting/else on another planet that not even us, human, won't be on this planet but on another planet when this will hapen, just because were the only planet with live here doesn't mean were the only ppl/soul on this place.
If you mix this YTMND with Kurzweil's "The Singularity is Near" and Chardin's Omega Point Theory and you will get a taste of what I'm feeling and thinking now - that intelligent life in the universe is meant to evolve and utilize technology to evolve billions of times faster than before; on and on, bigger and bigger, until you're left with an omnipotent superconsciousness comprised of all the intelligent life that has ever existed. God.
How is this scaring people? This is on a timeline of millions and billions of years... Do you actually think that you'll live forever? Anyway, this wont even be relatvent. Were going to overpopulate and use up all the earths resources in the next couple hundred years. The only chance the human race has of survival is to either exterminate most of its population, and/or colonize other planets outside our solar system.
Get your *ss to a substitute of Earth via the technology available to humans during the particular period of our existance where the sun's growth affects the planet assuming we don't blow ourselves up and work together to ensure the survival of humanity or at least sustain it for as long as possible preferably enough so the technology required to travel to better worlds is developed such as wormholes and spaceships with lasers that go pew pew pew and sh*t and we can make it to planets with hot aliens!
Let's see Whetstone. Your evidence, which is just a bunch of vague witness accounts from hallucinating priests from several centuries ago, or the evidence compiled by scientists and astronomers alike.. hmmmmmm. Your ytmnd is a scare tactic. Even the creepy music proves it to be. This Ytmnd just educates and doesn't scream. CHANGE NOW OR YOU"RE ALL DOOMED AHAHASHDASDaSDHASK. By the time our planet starts getting screwed we're gonna be living on another planet. We can already teleport a single molecule.
