Well it seems almost sloppy, to tell you the truth... Also, my point was not that it was "Poorly Executed"- that was typogra's point. My point was that it's a little historically awkward to me, being that I thought that the Red Star Army had nothing to do with hitler- that it had something to do with the Soviet Union. Forgive me for not being a history buff, I've just never really been interested in that sort of stuff.
Man! So much vitriol for what is in fact a relatively average-good YTMND. I suppose what stops this from being great is there's no clear call to action, aside from "donate today." Does that mean "Sponsor this YTMND so we can help Max keep YTMND afloat?" Is it just a joke? If it IS just a joke, what does being in the Red Star Army entail? You're blowing my MIND. Okay, no more comments before coffee from now on, I promise. :D
That would be because people who divide the world into "upvoters" and "downvoters" engage in anonymous e-venge all the time. Their logic is that they'll retaliate against public one-star votes that have comments by making anonymous one-star votes. For being the self-appointed "good guys," most YTMND users sure are gutless little bitches.
"the only reason i am not downvoting everything you have is becuase... the "Bush Doesn't care About Mac People". Very Funny... Now shoot me some up votes on my higher votes and I will do the same." - and after that continued to blackmail to get a 5 on a site he actually stole... he's an out there case but there are similar ones.
I'm not sure about this whole "downvoter" conversation going on here... downvote/upvote is pretty much the same as left/right partisanship in American politics... there's no middle ground. And logrolling is "scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" only, of course, it's "you f*cked me I'll f*ck you back."
The latter being e-venging. Also, messing with downvoters can be fun as their psyches are fragile. I mocked and pm'ed this ridiculous downvote flamer and when he failed to justify any of his actions and his flame got more ridiculous I made a personalized perma-ban site about him which he subsequently 5'ed and 5'ed every new site the rest of the night. Couple days later I checked back and... his account was gone. With a couple fresh 1's in his wake. Permabanned, I presume...?
I dont really have an opinion on the site which is why i didnt vote... I just saw inks comment. we dont agree on a whole lot when it comes to YTMND but I didnt want his comment to be disregarded just because its him. Somehow that ends up to 'c*cksucking' when it comes to that assumptuous douche redhex.
I agree on the point that leaving comments (specifically helpful criticism) sets a good example to all, regardless of the vote. However, when people will say "you make a lot of upvotes, you must be a pussy" this is obviously flawed logic, just as it is to assume those with many downvotes do it to act "badass" or get attention.
So yeah, it's possible to genuinely enjoy a lot of sites, that's not a bad thing... it means you have a healthy sense of humor. It's also fine to have lower voting standards, though it more pressure is probably put on lower voters to explain their 1-star votes, which isn't usually too much to ask.. if they're honest about it, and aren't douchebags about it, then there should be no problem.
And I don't quite understand how typogra, myself and others are being "harsh" I gave the site the rating I thought it deserved... not a big deal. It's called constructive criticism. I'm not a downvoter. Look at my vote spread- more often than not I tend to vote 5. But Ink is right in the respect that once you've been on YTMND for a while, you stop caring so much as to what people think of you, and start to care more about other peoples' sites.
I understand your frustration at mindless downvoters, but understand that not all of the people on ytmnd want to (or need to) justify their votes on sites to anyone. Nor do they deserve e-vengeful downvoting on their sites in retaliation to said votes. People need to learn to take things in stride. Instead of arguing with people's opinions, try and think about why the person may have commented how they did.
wow... i can't believe you people are this retarded... it isn't about hitler or russia... jesus... it's a propaganda poster for ytmnd based on easily recognizable things FROM ytmnd... it isn't real... i give the average user too much credit... from now on i should just make sites that involve under aged tits and asses with cats and bad club music while sam jackson bitches about snakes...
