It's easy to get the feeling sometimes that a lot of YTMND users are lacking culture beyond anything made in the last fifteen years.
It's for this reason I am proposing the first official "theme night" on YTMND. The topic of this "theme night" will be John Waters' masterful 1981 film entitled "Polyester".
The only rules of theme night are that you have to make a YTMND on topic to the film. There are no winners although there will certainly be some losers. The main goal of theme night is to create quality content.
Here is a torrent to the movie for your chopping pleasure. I suggest you purchase the movie as it includes a scratch and sniff card you can use to smell along with the flick.
On another note, the site will go down later this morning for maintenance, to clear the deletion queues. This means thousands of accounts, sites and comments will be deleted. If I have the time I am going to add a deletion button directly onto user profiles for myself to use. At this point, I feel it's time to start deleting en masse.

I can see a good news/bad news plotline making itself known right now. The good news? A creative output that will hopefully have someone making a ytmnd that will make its way into the sponsorships column. The bad news is that Max might be get a little trigger happy with some of the well-known ytmnds (definitely the P'zown), or worse......US (or me)! I just hope I can make a good Polyester ytmnd.

Hmmm, yeah I wouldn't exactly call John Waters culture... he's really more anti-culture isn't he? Certainly he is a legend in the midnight/cult genre... and people should know who he is. But his films aren't really quite as "shocking" now, in the age of 4chan and the easy availability of a multitude of shock images...are they? In the 70s I'm sure it was an experience to see Pink Flamingos...but now everyone has seen goatse...so the goatse scene in PF kinda loses some of its flair now.
