a journey to reedham (7am mix)

I'm hard at work on the new site creator, which turns out to be a lot more work than I originally thought. I'm well aware of the plethora of issues currently plaguing the site, and I'm working on them as diligently as possible.
Current issues:
So anyway, back to the new site creator and all its magnificent features.
As you can see from the flow chart, it's a much more intensive process than it is currently (at least from a programming standpoint). New features include:
Current issues:
- YTMNSFW voting I've put a hack in place to make voting work any time you click a nsfw link from the front page and browse pages, there are still some issues when you just type a url directly into your browser and I'm working on it.
- The Search The new search is more or less useless due to the lack of sorting capabilities. The search engine software I'm using is in the beta stages of sort ability so very soon it should be able to replace the old search. The reason the old search was removed is that it can no longer be updated at any reasonable frequency due to technical constraints. I think for the time being I'm going to switch back to the old search and just have to live with it only being updated a couple times a week.
- The site is too orange. Great, I get the fucking point, it's been two weeks. If it's still an issue for you get the fuck out. I may add a color scheme option at some point but it's not nearly as much of a priority as a great deal of new features.
- Site Moderation - Killed Sites I'm in the process of designing a whole new tiered moderation system with more of a self policing element to it. As it is roughly around five sites get killed per day, and usually with good reason. In the next week or so I should be inviting the current moderators to discuss all of the new moderation system and its strong and weak points. Which leads me to my next point:
- Gimmick accounts/Vote bots/Dupe accounts
- Shirts Yes, I'm aware you want shirts, I'm in the process of setting up with a new printer/fulfillment shop, so it's still in the works.
- Content box tweaking A few of the content boxes need to be tweaked so they change more often, ironically people seem to be complaining about top viewed not changing enough when the algorithm hasn't changed from when they were begging to have it back. Up and coming needs its vote cap reinstated as well as a few other issues.
- You Yes, you, get out.
I'm acutely aware of the plague of dip shits who think they've reinvented funny by commenting and voting the exact same way on every site ever created on YTMND. Not only is this shitty from a technical aspect, I'm fucking sick of hearing people complain about it as well as having to see it myself. I've already written scripts to weed gimmick accounts out, I just need to sift through them and make sure I don't pick up any innocents. At this point, dupe accounts have become numerous as well, and I have a gigantic list of those as well. I want you to be well aware using automated voting will result in not only your account deletion and an ip ban, but any of your linked ips. This means if your friends use your computer or vice versa, or your entire college shares the same ip, everyone gets deleted and ip banned. With any luck I'll kill the entire site.
So anyway, back to the new site creator and all its magnificent features.
As you can see from the flow chart, it's a much more intensive process than it is currently (at least from a programming standpoint). New features include:
- the ability to reserve a sub-domain for 24 hours.
- the ability to close your browser or navigate away from the site creator and then come back and pick up where you left off (with a 24 hour expiration as well)
- a nifty new dupe check system that warns you if you've: used a title that's been used previously, used an image/sound or combination that's already been used.
- "Original Content Tuesday": On Tuesdays, users will only be able to upload images and sounds never used before on YTMND.
- Color Picker for the hex inept
- Preloader update: option to auto-resync, automatically will hide site text until fully loaded.
- Live preview window: the ability to change one thing on your site and reload a preview window for easy tweaking.
- New "Classic YTMND" classification: will make for some new content boxes
- The ability for users to mark their own sites NSFW
- Hooks for a feature that's been needed for ages: Alerts. Alerts will allow you to be notified when a friend creates a site, when a certain image, sound or string in a title is used, etc.
As well as a bunch of other junk.

Dr-L337, you're already an admin. Might as well be. This is Dr-L337.com. Or it might as well be. I used to hate fads. Now I'm drooling for another cake-baking happycat. Every time I pop in here, I hope I don't see your collective sh*t on the front page. Every day for the last month or more I've been disappointed. You win. The site is yours.

CampusBlender is the cool place to hang out. You can find most of the cool people there. In CampusBlender you can just chill and do whatever and totally relax. "Take it easy" is the CampusBlender motto, for example, that's how laid back it is there. Show up if you want to have a good time. Another good reason to show up is if you want to hang out with friends.

Oh yeah, buy a premium subscription and enjoy all the HTML f*ckery you can handle!
"Max, could you make Worthwhile the way it was originally i.e. 25+ votes at least to
get into it with a score of 4.00+? I'd make it 50 at least, personally." Yes please. Is the still current state of Worthwhile (listed sites with an insanely low number of votes) a bug or a feature? There are people whining about the killed sites on Worthwhile who must not be aware of this whole situation. Since a mod is (foolishly) killing these sites it suggests they weren't intended to be on the list to begin with.
evilregal knows what is wrong with ytmnd. apparently, evilregal knows what is wrong with ytmnd so clearly that he doesn't need to change it because he sees it so clearly in his own mind. unfortunately, this is not clear enough for me and I would prefer it if he and those who complain on end would do something about it rather than complain and upvote fads. Thank you for wasting your life.

Well he still can't throw. Scrambling QBs are typically good in the red zone (Kordell Stewart), but if they lack good field vision they typically can't drive a team to the red zone (Kordell Stewart), so they don't get many opportunities. So, no, it doesn't show that he has improved as a passer, it shows that they got to the red zone a lot. His 200 yards shows that he's not a good quarterback unless he's in the red zone. Non-scrambling QBs are usually worse in the red zone, and they often...
I'm talkin about the old 2004 and 05 fads...these are the old fads that made ytmnd kickass. Nowadays, we're seeing more of these 06 fads (epic manuever, pedo-Stephanie, 4chan-related fads)...we really need to get the ONE PST site that could be a major fad like Stapler and Picard...I'm talking about a classic ytmnd site. If we can get a fad similar to those that rocked in 04 and 05, then ytmnd could be kickass. Yeah of course new material is good, but not in the form of the recent fads.
" The site is too orange.
Great, I get the f*cking point, it's been two weeks. If it's still an issue for you get the f*ck out. I may add a color scheme option at some point but it's not nearly as much of a priority as a great deal of new features. "
add all the features you want! i stopped coming to this site because the new layout just plain f*cking sucks and I know I'm not the only one.
Stapler and Picard fads were dumb and unoriginal. In fact, all fads are unoriginal. If they were original, they wouldn't need to copy something from somewhere else. "Epic maneuver" fad has been dead for a long time, and most people nowadays don't even know what the point was. Also, anyone who posts a clip from somewhere else that everyone has seen (yes, you south park and family guy) need to stop. It's not creative. Period.
"Stapler and Picard fads were dumb and unoriginal. In fact, all fads are unoriginal." I just stopped reading there...these were classic fads that brought me here to that place. And quite a nice amount of fads are original. Do you mean to tell me the meteor fad was not original? THe first meteor is now a f*cking moderators favorite and there was a ton of creativity with the fad. Seriously, if you don't like fads, GTFO.
look i know this is the wrong place, but i'm looking for something and wondered if anyone could help locate a ytmnd that showed a animated slide/gif of a colage of pictures with the turtle and hippo pair.... I've tried a couple diferent searches and came up with nothing yet, but i know i've seen it before and i wanted to show some people!!! do you know what i'm talking about? PM me please. thanks!!!
The site that spawns a fad isn't a fad. Why? Because if instead of spawning the fad it, let's say, didn't spawn a fad, then it would not be a fad, so something that is not at all related to it can't cause it to become a fad. Anything that comes after it is derivative of that initial site and can be considered part of the fad. Anything that is derivative is inherently not creative. It may be innovative, but it is derivative so it can't really be considered creative in the common sense of the word.
Now, you may like innovation, and I said nothing against innovation, but without creativity there could be no fads (the site that spawns a fad is either creative or a derivative of something else which was at some point down the line creative). Thus, creativity is much more important than innovation because the second can't exist without the first and the more of the first you have the more opportunities you have for the second.
Max, it has been brought to my attention that the spell checker I have been referring to in previous posts is, in fact, a feature of FireFox 2.0 and not one of your own design. I apologize for taking up three comments with my thanks, suggestions, and subsequent retraction of said thanks and suggestions.
