Everyone knows that humans will keep playing with things that get increasingly dangerous (Icarus and Deidalus making the wings and flying away from Crete), and before you know it we'll bone-up somewhere (Icarus flies too close to the sun) and it'll result in the ultimate extinction of life on Earth.
