It's called a "cover" dude. The titles are the same, most of the lyrics are the same. That's covering. To call that a rip-off would mean that Hendrix ripped off Bob Dylan with "All Along the Watchtower."
It's nowhere near as effective without the original "Un-Funny Truth" soundtrack. The ominous ambiant bellows made it seem bizarre, whereas this new music is too peppy and without character.

Actually, the majority of average Brits I've met will often have a far, far worse grasp on the language than I've seen in Americans. UK kids in particular seem to have created an even greater array of mangled misspellings and shorthand nonsense than US kids could even fathom using.
