If your son robs a gas station, you aren't responsible for his crime. Yes, you raised him, but he has the ability to make his own decisions, whether they are for good or evil. Using a manufacturer as an example does not apply because the product can't make decisions on its own, but rather do only as it was designed to do. Humans weren't designed to cause harm, but rather decide to. And natural disasters only came about after the fall of man, the beginning of free will. Pain is the counterpart to happiness.
