The film's name is "La piel que habito" ("The Skin I Live In"), released in 2011, in case anyone is wondering. The scenes I've seen in this YTMND are actually a rather decent depiction of scientific lab work, except that no scientist above the age of 40 will ever work in the lab. Ever.
That really makes me feel sad. Almost fifty years ago humans set foot on a foreign world for the first time in history. Today it is unsure whether we will ever return there, not to speak of travelling further, going boldly where no man has even gone before...
Depression, yes. Homosexuality and addiction, no. Necessary conditions for a condition being defined as a disease are 1. being caused by a bodily malfunction and 2. the affected person suffering from it. The first condition does not apply to addiction, the second does usually not apply to homosexuality.
Mental illness implies a malfunction of the brain. This may be the result of drug use, but it is rarely its cause, let alone drug use itself. Otherwise, any "deviant behaviour" might be labelled a "mental illness". Fortunately, these times are long past.
I did not recycle the image, I stumbled upon it on the internet. It is a mere coincidence that it has been used in another YTMND before, and although I obviously learned about this when I submitted my YTMND, I did not consider it important, as a ripoff was never my intention.
In the words of Lt. Cmdr. Data: "The most elementary and valuable statement in science, the beginning of wisdom, is "I do not know".". I do not know whence this picture came, aside from the obvious fact that originated on the internet.

That made me think of Weyland-Yutani aka The Company, which stands for a vision of space travel that is definitely awesome.
