money-hat: did you read my earlier comment at all? i didn't say he'd made the correct citation, but i think it was out of ignorance, not malice. you're the one who claimed that he was "trying to pull a fast one".
the guy copied the same citation's ottervomit used in his original - i'm glad nobody even considered he might not know what the proper citation would be, but instead assumed that he was trying to "pull a fast one". also: the one frame he replaced made the piece timely, which is sometimes enough to equal funny.
1) isn't a big part of ytmnd building on the work of others? 2) i don't think the reference was insignificant, i think the reference was funny. you gotta give points for timely humor, and the reference was timely. sorry he didn't spend an all nighter in photoshop making his ytmnd, but sometimes being timely's enough, and this is one of those times.
bigboy987: someone's gotta present the other side here, especially when it's a band who's done nothing but help cover YTMND's bandwith costs while trying to get some exposure. i think that's pretty constructive.
you don't think these guys were fans of ytmnd before they got here? hey, maybe they weren't, but it's not like sponsoring a ytmnd would be as obvious a marketing move as buying a google ad-sense ad or putting up a facebook flyer.
i don't think beating up on some guys who gave max 60 bucks is the kind of unity we should be celebrating. i understand that pointless warmongering's a part of ytmnd's appeal, but can't we save the invective for eric bauman, or that guy who refused to credit necronomicon for "arnold's got hoes"?
if you guys were really pissed off about this band using a donation as an ad, you'd sponsor your own site. 5d'd for all the *ssh*les flaming a band when they could be doing something constructive.
uhm...i thought this was great, until that shot of doc louis from punch out totally ruined it. hey, i got no problem with scripture in YTMNDs, but stick with your premise - don't try to shoehorn a "n*gga stole my bike" joke in just to try to keep our attention.
