What might have happened is they had 2 copies of the game, and one copy was in the NES and the other copy was for show, as an advertisement if you will. That's my only logical explanation. ;)

Well lets see, as what gcnmario said, the game as on display, and the cartridge has duck hunt on it. So maybe the gun was there to make people think "oh i can shoot stuff if i buy the game" thats the only way i can make sense of it. Still funny though

HELLO! Duck Hunt was included with Super Mario Brothers! So the zapper gun is there for that... and yes, Mario was 2 players but each other's turn.
