In September 2008, Galveston Island was hit by a massive hurricane with sustained winds above 145 mph that reshaped the Gulf coastline from Florida to Texas with $37.6 billion in damage. The hurricane resulted in the largest evacuation of Texans in that state's history. It also became the largest search-and-rescue operation in U.S. history.
This is a memorial to the widespread loss and to the bravery of those in the rescue and restoration of Galveston I've made using clips of news reports and my guitar.
