So my only point was that it's funny to me that someone could hate altruistic people. It reminded me of Zapp Brannigan's hatred for the neutral people in Futurama. Also, altruism is perfectly normal and healthy. It occurs in nature all the time. It's not some perverted human idea like... well, YTMND.
I hate altruistic people who try to impose their stupid beliefs on others. The way I hate religious people for the same reason. If altruistic people want to give their money to the wealthy for no services, that's fine. Why would you want to embarrass yourself by making it pubic? I'm not altruistic, I'm a pragmatist.
Just to make this thread longer and more embarrassing: I don't really believe there exists "altruistic people"; only altruistic acts. Anybody who claims to be an altruist is full of sh*t and I think it's that type of person, Timaeus, you hate. Another type of person who is full of sh*t are those who say vulgar, selfish, crude things and try to pass it off as "just tell'n it like it is." As if everything that is good is a lie.
I understand that the issue in Haiti is a big deal and people are torn on whether or not we as a country should donate to the relief of this horrible disaster in another country or keep the money in our own country. However what we should really be concerned about is when the black dude on American Idol who sang "Pants on the Ground" is going to get a record deal.
So, are you saying that there will be no transparency in the relief effort? Are you saying there is some conspiracy that involves the thousands of people involved with said effort shutting their mouths and nothing would be leaked to the public if your scenarios played out? BTW, instead of starting a sentence with the words "I heard," why don't you just go the extra mile and flat out say "My mommy says..." The later has just about as much credibility. In the meantime, take the tin foil hat off.
Then I guess Timaeus is one happy bastard. Also, please provide sources for your accusations. The highest number I could find on the Red Cross through several internet keyword searches yields 10%, and the number from the BBB concerning the Red Cross and UNICEF are nowhere near the mark you have stated, but I am sure BBB is part of the conspiracy as well.
finding a way to make a joke about something like this is one thing, but filling up comment threads with actual debate over things like "should i even care" and "where does the relief money go," backing up one's opinion with "i dont care, f*ck them" or "i give to charities" truly reflects a deep seeded denial that has yet to graduate from an adolescent understanding of one's own life, let alone the lives of others.
You're a propagandist for hatred and violence, obviously unaware of the debt-slavery and tyranny constantly being imposed on Haiti by the West. Such willful ignorance (combined with your homophobia) would have, in fact, made you a good Nazi. People that five'd this will probably be in a natural disaster and die slowly over periods of several days trapped immobile and rubble. Those that survive the initial disaster will be hard pressed to find water and food as faucets and grocery stores will no longer be reliable sources of these vital commodities. You will shortly find that you are hungry all the time, and if you're lucky you'll have a strong immune system and a genetic resistance to water born parasites and diseases that you will be exposed
