typical artsy shi t, but still site winner. basic and cool i guess. do you know how they did those special effects for that particular whole scene? cgi needs to take some steps back i think. that was probably just oil in water yet it looked as if it was shot from a tiny point looking at a massive scale. f*ck pixar.
its funny too because most viewers take that scene as dave "traveling," as if through time or dimension, and that is sort of correct, but we're more supposed to be seeing him transform/evolve into a new form of life. all that color/"trippy" sit was his body changing, then all the sh*t inside the room where he sees himself at different ages is his mind changing. its very clear if you read the book, expecially the sequel, where he comes back to earth as that embryo baby thing and communicates with his family
and i never compare the book to the film, but considering arthur clarke wrote the book and co-wrote the screenplay with kubrick i think you CAN compare the two. im drunk. LOL. you can compare the two i guess, but not really...i suppose its a little different if the creator has such a heavy creative effect on the film tho.
