Legends of Jazz- #6: Miles Davis (Not Funny)
His nickname was The Prince of Darkness. Don't ask why. He also promoted a strong anti-drug policy, firing any band member who was an addict, including Coltrane. Now that is cool. This site was not intended to be funny. For educational purposes only

My initial attraction to this site was its sudden popularity. However, upon viewing it, the only part of the site I found somewhat funny was the mention of the quote from Billy Madison that I had not heard in a while. So how do you review a site that is decent, but is not the kind of thing that YTMND is meant for? If you're into jazz, you might get some appreciation out of this site. However, for the average YTMNDer, there is hardly any lulz to be found here. I give it a two............out of five.

Listen, I am simply trying to turn the population of YTMND onto some cool stuff. if you don't like it, then you're entitled to your opinion. I am not going to get mad. Have a nice day. :)

I am simply doing my job as a YTMND critic. I have to let the public know what to expect out of this YTMND.

I dont know why you put his fusion-funk w/Marcus Miller on, because that's really kind of sad to sum up Miles Davis with that smooth-jazz stuff. Should have put seven steps to heaven or something else.

Sorry, I just really liked the song. Plus it's hard to get a three minute cut from one of his songs to put up here. I would have put So What or something from Sketches of Spain, but it's hard.

he is the man, i have 10+ of his albums. he didnt invent jazz-rock fusion though, but that doesnt matter.

He popularized it. If Bitches Brew never came out, I doubt it would have caught on.

I like how you state, "you don't know sh*t about jazz" as if it's something to be ashamed of. Also, Miles Davis is BLACK!?!?

Jazz is very cultured stuff. Just because it doesn't have the Jonas Brothers singing or Nelly Frititos shaking her badonkadonk, doesn't mean its bad stuff.
