Trying to make any statement on YTMND, hell nowadays even trying to make a joke get through to some of these users is next to impossible. I suspect most of YTMND now is a bunch of punk kids that only know about 4chan and google. Maybe a few people over 17 in here that can use their brain. +5 for good audio to photo.
I don't give two-thirds an ounce of sh*t what you believe, oppression is not acceptable (and the CIA factbook is not wrong, Mechasm...srsly? 4 rllz?). If you hate American foreign policy, get in line, but direct your attention to those we oppose as well, see that we're not the worst thing on the planet, and while some people are doing a better job at being free and living well than we are, they are of no significant importance, and not worth threatening.
If Norway were to be bombed by people who believed that countries in cold places totally sucked, and ought to be wiped off the face of the earth, their policies toward cold-haters may change to favor oppression of those peoples' rights and freedoms.
Just a 'for instance', of course it's absurd and hardly parallel to the war America is involved in, but what would you have America do? Ignore the rest of the world? Take our noses out of the middle east? You know we can't do that, we still need oil.
Sharia is backwards, barbaric garbage that deserves no respect or quarter; any Muslim endorsing Sharia *IS* an enemy of freedom and our democratic traditions. If Muslims don't want to be discriminated against, they should IMMEDIATELY and VEHEMENTLY denounce Sharia and any/all forms of Wahabism or extremist Islam. If someone wants to believe something, that's fine. If they want to overthrow our government and throw rugs over our heads, then f*ck em'.
I know there are various flavors of it, some of which promote cruel punishments like lashings for drinking coffee with a woman in public or death by stoning for apostates. Regardless of the severity or rationality of the individual type, all Sharia seeks to place legal authority in the holy book and scholars of one religion rather than in the hands of a representative government. Freedom and elected government have worked well for the west and we're not looking to lose them any time soon.
I think many people here are getting really tired of your little crusade. I don't think I've ever seen you elaborate on your plan to "change" Islam in the US, and if you did, I didn't want to spend an hour sorting through your many, many comments on your own sites in defense of your beliefs. So just what is it that you propose the world does about this problem?
