This just means (hopefully) the sh*tty ytmnders are starving out, leaving only quality, dedicated ytmnders, right?

Sorry but that's just the trend history for people who have SEARCHED for "ytmnd". Take a look at the actual WEBSITE data and you'll see that while it's dipped a bit, the line still hasn't deviated much.

Silly Eva, this site was dead in 2004 and it made a huge comeback.

"The fact that an opinion has been widely held is no evidence whatever that it is not utterly absurd; indeed, in view of the silliness of the majority of mankind, a wide-spread belief is more likely to be foolish than sensible. "- Bertrand Russel

I'm making authentic sites I swear! YTMND is not dead until all of us give up. I'm not giving up on ytmnd and neither should you! Also, posting this is a waste of time.

Not surprising, the days of the epic fads that dominated the top 15 are long gone. It's a shame.

Google Trends isn't very accurate to tell whether a site is dieing. Nothing beats traffic statistics. Currently, YTMND is beating out SomethingAwfu and Fark, which is pretty damn good IMO!

That's it, you people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college.

I saw this site and thought "Wow this site is dumb. A sh*tty screenshot complaining about the decline of YTMND while itself adding to the decline. And from a featured user no less. " Then I watched your sites and realized you're a complete idiot.

It reminds me of the scene from "Untouchables" where Sean Connery's character dies.

Member since 2004. I've watched YTMND go from obscurity to internet (I'm the) juggernaut (bitch) to the shadow of its former self that it is today. The site, or the user base, was funniest during from mid 2004 to late 2006. By early 2007 things started to get gay, the NARVs came in, and everyone started leaving to just become Anonymous, much like myself. Now I only monitor the site as a past-tense demonstration of viral humor. gg YTMND

here is why ytmnd is dying: HTPAT (got the ball rolling), Featured Users, Many of ytmnd's users are either in college too busy to make ytmnd or out of college working too busy to make ytmnds, and of course the constant lack of stallone
February 25th, 2008
(-1)
agree (but nobody cares about stallone, owned)
February 26th, 2008
(1)
agreed, no one cares about stallone, thats why ytmnd is dying

How does search volume mean the site is dying? Maybe most people have the site bookmarked, or just know the URL.

It's weird, I used to love this site. But I can't think of any good ideas and all my favorite users have retired.
February 26th, 2008
(1)
yea I've noticed this too, ever since featured users started sites slowly started getting sh*tty, good fads disappeared and the majority of new fads are complete sh*t.

And it's thanks to heavy use and support of sites that use unoriginal media. Like this one. "Number of sites that use this asset: 110"

they should get the all time top rated back on the front page, that would give people a reason to come back

A site that is a fad that lives of of creating fads is like .... an empty eggshell made of empty eggshells its going to crumble and turn into something called 4chan.
(-1)
4chan > YTMND since late 2006.
