Which way is she spinning? Left brain, right brain.

Which way is she spinning? Left brain, right brain.
This is tricky - is she spinning clockwise or counterclockwise? It depends which part of your brain is dominating your thoughts - some people will see it one way, some will see it the other.

I find it is helpful to look down for a moment and think of her spinning the other way. When you look up again, she may well be doing exactly that.

Looks clockwise to me no matter what. Interesting.

Try again later, when you are in a different frame of mind - I promise you, at some point you will see her spin the opposite direction.

Okay that was freakin' weird. The first time I watched she was going clockwise, no matter what. I clicked onto another ytmnd. I came back and she was still going clockwise. Then I blinked, and she had changed direction.

I've been sitting and watching since I last commented. That is an awesome brain exercise! At first I thought it was a trick of the GIF, but now, I can get to the point where I can change its direction almost at will.( Give or take a few seconds!) I am sending lots of people this link, man.

Thank you, I am humbled by the certainty that you will make me famous. It is indeed no trick GIF, but rather a trick of the mind, and its propensity to inject a two-dimensional object into a three-dimensional interpretation based on the fleeting dominance of the perceiving lobe.

I had thought of putting it through Imageready to check for sure, but then it just clicked, and kept clicking. I plan to use this for 'mental tai chi', if you will. Are you new, or this a top secret alt, brought to life to stimulate new brain activity in ytmnd'ers?

I see her turning clockwise initially, so what part of my brain is dominating??? (more like C*CKwise amirite)

I only fav'd so I can do a poll on this later.

A poll to see how many see it clockwise and how many counter? I can't quite change her direction at will, but I can induce the conditions in my frame of mind that make the change inevitable.

She's obviously spinning to the right, i think it's the shadow that f*cks you up though. It's like looking at another person your right is there left so you have to look at it from that prospective. Right?

Sir, she is not spinning in either direction. "She" is a two dimensional object which is oscillating. This oscillation can be perceived as three-dimensional rotation in either direction, but the recipient's frame of mind must be right to see the change. But watch it enough and you will see it.

2 gifs in one. It has to be (or some other internet manipulation). I studied this for 15 minutes. If I'm wrong I very much would like proof or an explanation.

The explanation is, most assuredly, in your head. The sole manipulation at work is that which you practice upon yourself.

i've found it's super easy to get her to switch directions if you look at her foot. (the flat one on the ground)

Yes, that does seem to work well - she still catches me by surprise at times.
