Actually a white doctor invented peanut butter. It was not a black man, not Carver. And most of the stuff we attribute to black people weren't the case, like the traffic light. I hate when those shows say something stupid like "without black people we'd be driving into each other all day". Yeah, because if one guy didnt make a light, we'd be driving at top speed through intersections at every chance, just like if someone didnt make a shirt we'd all be running around naked during the winter. Right...
I'm not trying to be racist about that and say it didnt happen because they're black, I just see how it's stupid that we claim something is invented when it's like a traffic light just because it has someone who's black attached onto it. There already were like 50 different traffic light patents before him, but we chose that guy because he was black. We don't even use his traffic light today, the one we use was invented before his by some white guy. lawl
While we're on the race topic, I hate when black people accuse white people of slavery. Yeah, we kept slaves, but it's not like we went to Africa and captured slaves. I mean, think about it. What's happened any time a group of people have tried to "own" another group of people? They fought and either won and lived free, or they died free. The truth is, we made deals with leaders of tribes and exchanged slaves for goods. They say we captured them, when really it was their Chief waving to them as we...
In fact White Christian Protestants (WASPS) were the first people to actually try and ABOLISH slavery. BLack people often also forget that hite ENduntured Servants outnumbered black slaves during the time of slavery in America. I think black people in this country are far better off than if they had not been brought here from Africa...it's all economics....you do whatever you can get away with. Same with the whole 'White people killed all the Indians' deal.

Peanut butter is f*cking ancient; the Incas ate it. Mashing stuff up isn't really an invention. The stuff Carver cam up with was far more sophisticated, he popularized peanuts because they restored nitrogen levels in soils depleted by years of exclusive cotton farming. He published some recipes, but his major peanut related contribution was in methods of using peanut products in varrious manners of chemical production.
