The Coolest Kid You Knew In 1941
The ancestor of the one that started it all. Man I hated him, he always had the best games.

Ragtime = 1900s, you should be playing some hot jazz or the Ink Spots or something.

That's what I was thinking, working on it.

This should be better, but I don't know jack about 40's music, so any suggestion probably cant be worse than George Olsen. Anyway, this site is gonna be dead in a few hours so I might not bother changing it again.

You should change the music to some hot jazz. Would I hip young kid from 1941 be listening to George Olsen? maybe? I'm not sure but hot jazz would make him seem more "cool" in the 40s to us living today.

I thought this was going to be a Hitler joke (which MAY have had some comedic possibilities, too), but this was a funny, well-planned twist on the fad. Well done.

Easiest music to find for the 1940s is music about the war. The Andrews Sisters were very popular in the 40s. Pretty much anything by them is from that time period.

Why, in my day, we didn't have YTMND. All we had was the side of an old barn and some chalk. And we loved it! We liked it just fine! Even let the colored kids play with us!

Why isn't this a nazi youth's room?
November 16th, 2007
(2)
Citizen Kane wasn't popular when it was first released, so I doubt anybody would have a poster of it in their room.
November 16th, 2007
(1)
For some reason, I just knew someone would say this. Well, I had to pick a reference that people would understand. If I wanted to be even more historically accurate, I could have put a poster of "How Green Was My Valley" or "Here Comes Mr. Jordan" instead, but it's two movies no one cares about, so why bother. Also, Citizen Kane was still more or less popular at it's release, it just was overlooked by criticism.

Well I have to say LePape's comment response does impress me. I don't think many kids of any generation would be impressed by Citizen Kane as it has a decidedly large lack of super powers, guns, explosions, action, or tits. The choice of that movie because of its significance to that era does speak volumes about the thought that went into this ytmnd. While I hate the "cool kid" fan in general, this *is* actually pretty cool.

Compared to the original, there's no that much difference on that point. It's just the collar that's poorly edited, but... oh well. http://coolestkidin91.ytmnd.com/
