i guess so...but it's supposed to reflect more the "business model" of mmo's.
The carrot is "phat lootz," the promise of being the "best in the game," and ultimately beating it. The gaming company attempts to get you to follow the crack carrot, every step being a $15 a month charge. So they more or less encourage people to work for them. Like a donkey.
All that matters in MMO business model is that people not only play, but keep p(l)aying. Indefinitely. So they do whatever they can to keep the game addict
Remember the beginning of Wayne's World (2?), when they meet the guy who makes video games? He tells Wayne and Garth about his new game, whose first level is impossible to beat, so kids just keeping giving up quarters to try and beat it. Wayne and Garth call the guy an *ssh*le. Yet this is exactly what you are doing when you play an MMO.
But sex is when you finally get to bite that carrot. Then you spit it out because you don't like the taste, then go back for some more because you think you'd like the taste after you get used to it, then you spit it out again. Then it gets forced into your mouth, you gag a little, and when it's all over theres only a nub of the carrot left. Feeling oddly satisfied, you stop pursuing the nub carrot and search for longer, better tasting ones. Totally hetero comment.
MMO for Massive Multiplayer Online. Usually short for Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game however there are MMO social, MMOFPS and so on. In an MMORPG you create a character and then your character gains abilities as you play along. Over time you have a very powerful character and reach a point where you can't actually do anything with that character forcing you to start all over from scratch. You pay about`$20 a month for the privilege of playing this game.
