people need to stop downvoting every site they see on up and coming
August 6th, 2007

Nope, never on up and coming. I doubt any site like this would ever make the cut, regardless of quality.

"I doubt any site like this would ever make the cut, regardless of quality." I thought only fundy Christians had persecution complexes, and that now that Mormons aren't ACTUALLY being persecuted anymore, they'd have gotten over it. Guess not.

Well, thank God we aren't persecuted in the senses of the Haun's Mill massacre or the Mormon extermination order from the governor of Missouri. As far as your comment goes, I didn't mean that the site wouldn't make the cut because of persecution or anything; just that nowadays mostly humorous sites get on up and coming, and even out of humorous ones, one needs mad video editing skills and flashy pictures to even be considered. So... I'm not blaming persecution; just ADHD.

I'm not going to rate, but I think there are better ways to pay tribute to Jesus. If you really want to honor Jesus, instead of donating to your own site, donate to a church, or donate to a Christian charity that feeds hungry kids. The site isn't even that good.
August 6th, 2007
(6)
There are better ways, but the best part is you can do those and still donate to this site. Besides, a site does not need flashy gifs or weeks of professional-quality editing in order to convey a lot of meaning to the right audience. Am I wrong?
August 6th, 2007
(2)
No, all you need is a vivid imagination and you can create your own religion filled with falsifications, absurdities, and belittling rhetoric. YOU'RE A SINNER, YOU ARE NOTHING, GIVE UP YOUR CAPACITY TO REASON AND BELIEVE OUR STORIES! You can do all this for FREE! Actually, for Mormons, you have to give 10% of your income, not to mention your ability to do what you like without being threatened with excommunication, but just think of the illusory benefits!

Hey, I really wanna know who that arrangement of Agnus Dei is by. If ya know, It'd be awesome. thx
August 7th, 2007

Ditto. That's a -really- nice arrangement. Who is it?
August 8th, 2007

It's actually a group of amateurs who sang one year at this festival in American Fork, Utah. My friend went there and bought a recording. I'm not sure if it can be found anywhere else.

Yeah. In a world of "Tubgirl" and "Put Shoe of Head" (the latter of which I found hilarious, btw), this kind of representation is sorely lacking, and in my opinion, sorely needed.

God is dead. You fail!
August 8th, 2007

Another misunderstood quote by a noob at life. Nietzshe was criticizing atheists when he said it, addressing the problem of "retaining a system of values in the absence of a divine order." Check here for info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_is_dead
August 11th, 2007
(0)
eh i dont trust wikipedia. please dont
August 12th, 2007
(0)
Generally speaking, Nietzsche's opinion was that the death of the concept of God was the best thing evar. you fail at existentialism acheron!
August 12th, 2007
(0)
Not really. Nietzsche was the biggest atheist ever. All I was saying is that the phrase "God is Dead" was not to be taken literally. Read any book on the subject. I'm not wrong.
August 12th, 2007
(0)
And, attitude, neither are you, really :_
August 12th, 2007

Acheron, loved the site and score but I must comment on this. Who are you to say how something should be interpreted? Philosophy and English majors debate about sh*t like this all the time and the best part is, you are right so long as proof follows. Thrill's proof was the sentence literally itself. However, taken out of context yes I can agree with you that it cannot be justified since the whole phrase is "God is dead, and we killed him/it." Either or, I can't stand when people impose their point of views.
August 12th, 2007

on others without first viewing it from the other's point of view. Probably why I always hated english and why I can never find common ground on a religious standpoint because for a religion to be right, that means someone, or everyone, is wrong. I don't like the notion of someone being wrong of a tremendous choice such as faith. Just my 2 cents.
August 20th, 2007

I agree with you. I just hope I didn't come across as trying to impose my beliefs on you. If I did, I apologize. basically this site is a tribute to be seen and appreciated by those who can appreciate what I am showing. Granted there are those who disagree with my beliefs, and they are privileged to do so without me tearing theirs down. I hope and pray that the often rabid ytmnd will return the favor. A naive hope, but an optimistic one. Thanks for the comment.

Or the world is turned to his back.
August 11th, 2007

That's not quite how back-turning works, my friend. The World would have to pull off a major curve-ball to turn Jesus' back to itself.

I think its a cheap way to make a religious statement. Your religion commands you to prolystize and thanks to human ingenuity you can now do it in your boxers in your basement! Probably not what the good book had in mind but its better then lording food over hungry indigenous people displaced by colonialism!
August 10th, 2007
(0)
But on the same note (so you don't misinterpret what I say) I do think you have a right to make it. I am sure you expected responses like this on a site like YTMND though - so its give and take I guess :)
