Who needs money when the government can decide how to spend it for you? Money doesn't belong to individuals it belongs to the State, isn't that right you Socialist sheep?

Because 5% of the population controlling 75% of the money is always a good thing, right? Under a socialist system the people who would be -most hurt- isn't going to be the 'average american'. Do you have any idea how much -good- health insurance costs? Most companies AREN'T giving benefits anymore... State and Federal employees get them though! If Universal Healthcare IS implemented, the upped taxes will be balanced out by the fact that you're NOT going to be paying for a lot of other services.

Great idea Eldred! Instead of enriching the nation so that everyone's wealthier let's just make the poor entirely dependent on rich people's money and government intervention! How could the poor possibly survive without sucking the government's tits? Supporting the poor's lavish lifestyle of recreational drug use, gang violence, and unemployment requires government aid!

Too bad you're the one in the minority, buddy. A majority of the people in this country support universal health care, social programs, and environmental regulations. Which is why I suspect you're so angry-you've read the writing on the wall and seen that your ideals are on the way out. But, by all means, continue with your tantrum. It's amusing.

My ideals won't die until I do, and I'm not going out without a fight. There are other Americans who want small government besides me. We will make a stand and you can't stop us. Will you ban axes? Will you ban knives? Will ban baseball bats? Will you ban the hands on my arms? You can't stop my resistance communists and I will bring you pain for treading on my freedom. The government doesn't own me.

The desire for freedom and formation of capitalism are the natural ways people act. Communism is the mental disorder, and that's why Communist regimes need to kill so many people. The amount of death and suffering would actually be lower in the long run if all Communists were killed, because, as history has shown us, when that system gains power it kills and oppresses dissenters.

Tax is a simple issue. The government takes my money so they can spend and redistribute it as they see fit. Personally I don't like my money being taken away against my will to be used on programs I neither use nor agree with. Higher taxes are always bad for me.

^It's funny because you're a minor and you don't even pay taxes. Anyway, I have no pity for the wealthy. They could, and should, be paying 75 percent of their incomes in taxes, and they'd still have more money than anyone on here will ever dare dream of.

In a free economy some people have more money than other people. Deal with it or get the f*ck out. Communism's solution to everything is to take money away from the wealthy. Well eventually there's no wealthy people left to steal from and then all the Communist people suffer because their system never created any real wealth, it just kept drawing from the well of the rich. Using the rich people as a whipping boy isn't going to end poverty.

You're right, brother. For too long have the tiny, oppressed minority of wealthy people been brutalized by the unwashed masses. It's time to END the tyranny of the majority, to stand up for the rights of the obscenely rich, and to check the masses' audacity to dare want to send their kids to college or have access to medical care. Rise up, wealthy brothers! Your hour is at hand.

The Socialists are starting to sound a lot like Christians. Jesus died because of your sins, be righteous and give us your money. The poor died because of your wealth, be liberal and give us your money. My wealth belongs to me not the Church, or the poor, or the government and it will stay that way until I decide to spend it on a legitimate service, which is something neither priests nor politicians provide for me.

People so poor they're starving to death are in a minority even smaller than the 'obscenely rich' (I love that term btw, it succinctly captures the Socialist attitude that being wealthy is a sin). The vast majority of people in America have food to eat and shelters to stay in. The majority of people who starve to death in America die from Anorexia or Bulimia. The hard-working poor American who is also starving and homeless is a mythological creature dreamed up by socialist's in order to guilt-trip people.

9,000,000,000,000 dollars in debt. 42,000 dollars per american. Taxes are good, at least within the next decade. Once we're out of debt we can lower taxes. Now is /not/ the time.

the taxes don't go anywhere specifically. They go to a single account where appropriations bills take from that. The less appropriations that are passed/less money the administration uses, the more money going to debt. At least this is my understanding.

March 30th, 2008

That's funny, because you and Matthew seem to be complaining about taxes in general. Tax increases go along with why we need taxes to begin with. It's a part of life in America, sometimes it's necessary. Get used to it.
March 30th, 2008

1. I did not make this site. So it's not my message. 2. The tax increases would only be necessary because of the extremely wasteful spending that the president and congress failed to get rid of. 3. Your original statement is entirely incorrect, as well as your second.

not all socilaism is anti-democratic, totalitarian, or even involves the government at all. a person can take care of oneself, and help others simultainiously. its simply of matter of not thinking purely about yourself and consider the needs of the people around you.

the difference between a human being and a happyness machine is that a human beings help each other, happyness machines only care about themselves. you dont mind being taxed to death to pay for war debts, or the healthy cut of profit to feed investors, why does it bother you so much that some of what you have to give anyway goes to helping other people?

the only power the poor have is their numbers. labor is the use of that power to get a better shake. in a free market thats what happens, people use what they have to get what they want, so really by smashing labor your interupting with that process. one that democratises society, and gives the powerless a fighting chance againts corporate influence.

How to think like a Liberal Democrat: "I am against 5% of people controlling 75% of the money. So I want the government to step in. That way, .00005% of the people will control 100% of the money, and life will be fair."

Think of how dangerous an idea democracy is. it gives entire control of the government over to the poor as they make up the majority. Madison hated it, and Jefferson loved it. a corporation works in a completely different manner, one in which the future belongs to those who can afford to invest in it. which has its perks. but if you deny the democratic power of the majority, and relly only on wealth, it stops being their country, so they have no reason to fight for it or even give a sh*t. Its not theirs.
April 9th, 2008
(0)
I'm inclined to beleive that we need a kama sutra like harmony where wealth interests and majority interests balance each other out. wealth will, and has crushed or abused democracy to deny public power. they only thing that can possibly stop this the solid and unyeilding pressure of the masses. of course it would help if clinton would stop making freinds with narco-king dictators who like to kill labor organizers. we need labor in the third world if only to slim the huge cost benefits of investing their.
