YTMND flash preloader

This gif probably took longer to make than actually changing the preloader itself

... like I said, YTMND is evolving. I think max and I would both be at least a little bit interested in what the users think about going from the traditional YTMND medium (browser-based .gif, .wav/.mp3) into a more accessible/portable format such as importing it entirely into Flash-based playback. PLEASE REPLY TO THIS THREAD WITH COMMENTS!
I see your point well and clear now. If it's currently impossible to show a percentage for the preloading of an image then I guess it won't come around for quite a while. Flash-based playback sounds like a monstrous job. Still, thanks for clearing it up for now. I look forward to seeing YTMND evolve.
If all we're doing is converting the picture/sound/text format into a flash file that can display progress, it'd be great. That said, I'd still like the limitation to be placed there. YTMND is not the place for flash movies or games, there are other sites on the net for that. Also, it sounds like it would be quite a chore... If it's easy, great. If not... I think there are more productive ways to spend programming time with YTMND.
i hope it doesnt turn into all flash, YTMND as a specific medium doesnt exist anywhere else ( i think?) and like cooke+Btape sed, fi we went all flash, we'd lose our particualrity as creators within this medium. so not just for that reason it should stay as is in form, but the production/delivery will probably always be changin/improving.
a fat lot of the content here is same as the rest of the internets, but theres also a lot of ytmnd-specific work, and really original uses of the form, and thats stuff that doenst translate well to other sites/media and probably couldnt have been made any other way. that's why utube/newgrounds can get boring, cause there's no given form to challenge/work through- their material is similar to other stuff in both content and form, because our process is sortof 'standalone', we can have these kinds of . . .
