Long Live Rock (A Tribute)
This is meant as a semi-humorous tribute to great dead musicians ('cept John Denver, hate that guy). They're all awesome and I wish I could have met them.

Will be adding a few more (Jimi, Elvis, etc.). If you want to see a musician added (has to be rather influential and part of music history) just leave a comment. I have a good memory for dead musicians, but not that great!
(-1)
the obvious: Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, Richie Valens

Mozart but no Chopin?

Mozart rocks. Chopin sucks.

Before I even clicked, I said to myself "this is getting a 1 if theres no Zappa". Good work! Also, don't add anymore, everyone who is asking you to is a f*ggot.

5 for Bonham, John Lennon, Elvis. I suggest:
Brian Jones, 07/03/1969: "Drowned in a swimming pool."
Vincenzo Bellini, 09/23/1835: "Another great opera was left unwritten."
John Belushi as Joliet Jake Blues, 03/05/1982: "They all thought I'd be the first to go." He certainly was

can you slow it down a bit? they go by pretty quick...
March 29th, 2007
(1)
Problem is going too fast or too slow, heh. You either go too slow and lose their attention or too fast and ruin the vibe. Will up the frames from 3 to 3.5-4.

Update#1: Added Janis Joplin, Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison, and Jimi Hendrix. Each frame now lasts 4 seconds up from 3.
March 29th, 2007
(-1)
Next update will fix the errors caused by this update (my ImageReady is being very buggy, whenever I save some text disappears /sigh), and will add blues musicians interspersed (Elmore James, Lead Belly, John Lee Hooker, etc.). And I think I'll exchange Mozart for Beethoven (he is after all the roots of rock). Was only using Mozart as a "wtf?" moment anyways.

5'd just for being TV'sFrank. Though, not to stir up trouble, I think the circumstances of Jimi's death were slightly different than those of Bonham's. Both died, technically, in their sleep, but I think Jimi overdosed while Bonham choked. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, the point being here is that you get a 5.
March 29th, 2007

Also, Syd Barrett, Roger Water's credibility and sense of shame, and Shannon Hoon. I'm not saying Shannon Hoon was influential, but he's one of the few rock stars the AdCouncil think people still remember and use for their anti-drug ads. Nobody remembers Shannon Hoon quite like the people who want to exploit death to save some kids. Am I right?
March 29th, 2007
(-1)
Problem is many of the deaths aren't cut and dry (one says overdose for Jimi, other says choking on vomit from too many sleeping pills). I try and use the supposed circumstance that makes it a bit funny, or gives meaning. In this case, making you remember how Bonham died to understand how Jimi did.

Oh, and Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Brian Epstein (Beatle's manager), and for sh*t's n'giggles, Paul McCartney.
March 29th, 2007
(-1)
I'd rather go with the 5th Beatle than a manager. More humorous and still a musician. And yes, forgot about Brain Jones. Next update be in a few hours, gonna relax, heh.

and i guess in this sense, Harry Whittington > Kurt Cobain

Did you know that John Denver defended the likes of Twisted Sister and other such band in court when Al Gore's retarded wife called them up on charges of "attempting to incite indecent thoughts and disturb the mind of our youth"? He was a huge advocate of free speech, especially in music. But at least you included him, and you may have your opinion, so take your 5.

Rock and roll died along with its best standard-bearers. What's left today is a pathetic shell of its former glory. Way to remind me.

you should put these in chronological order or something...
June 27th, 2009

It got started as alphabetical, got f*cked up by suddenly going alphabetical via first name, then well lost most of it's order. I think I'll do a continuation using the song I originally wanted to use for this. I'm bored and feeling quasi-creative lately, but not creative enough to figure out what to do a waterocolor of.

5 for Bonham, John Lennon, Elvis. I suggest:
Buddy Holly, J.P. Richardson (The Big Bopper) and Richie Valens, 02/03/1959 (ages varied): "The Day the Music died."
February 29th, 2012

Just added: Davy Jones.
