idownvote, you're a douche. I did not steal from youtube, but I appreciate you doing the investigation and premature accusation, you little sleuth, you. I also appreciate that you vote on things based on the way that others have voted. It is your job, after all, to keep others' votes in check. You are the keeper of the balance of power. You are the guarantor of justice. Bravo! As for your calling it quits, that sounds fine to me, as most of your ytmnds are pretty dumb anyway.
A jackoff indeed. I think its hilarious that idownvote is going to such trouble in his attempt to prove that the material for this ytmnd was stolen. It wasn't. The funniest part of his futile quest is that you could find other versions of the video or audio featured in nearly every ytmnd somewhere on the internet. Were they also stolen? Oh, and this ytmnd is not an example of a newscaster making a "mistaek." It was an intentional, albeit insensitive, commentary on the neverending news coverage of her death.
Yup, anyone who disagrees with you is a jackoff or [insert other childish remark]. It would be one thing if you had happened to have been recording CNN at precisely the moment it occured. In fact, I might have upvoted it! But of course there's no explanation why it took you several hours to post it and why the image obviously has the compression artifacts of a flash video. If completely ripping off someone else's mildly humorous find is not stealing, what is?
Not anyone who disagrees with me is a jackoff, just you. You're making much ado about nothing like some self-righteous moral crusader. You're wasting your time and your indignation. It's a hilarious clip. It wasn't stolen. And you come across as an idiot for constantly and erroneously suggesting that you've found the possible source of it. As for your concern, next time I'll try to get my CNN-related ytmnd's up within minutes of their airing, lest they be suspected of thievery.
I didn't invoke your ytmnds for their lack of quality. Rather, I invoked them because they featured stolen content, at least insofar as you define "stolen." Your most popular and highest rated ytmnd featured a single picture of Samuel L. Jackson and audio from the Snakes on a Plane website. Where was your moral indignation when you made that site? I can be tolerant of idiocy, as it can be forgiven. But hypocrisy and a concerted effort to hide it is unforgivable. Looks like I have the moral highground now.
Hiding? Don't flatter yourself. I kept that and other sites up for far over half a year. Your cited example of the SLJ site featured over 10 audioedits, and was at least somewhat creative. Can you really say the same about your YTMND? But hey, if you think that being creatively bankrupt somehow gives you the moral highground, then feel free.
Hahaha, idownvotethieves, you're such an idiot... do you even have a god damn clue what "YTMND" stands for? DO YOU SEE THE PICTURE OF SEAN CONNERY BESIDE THE URL NAME!? If you don't understand what I'm getting at, you are perhaps so great an idiot that we shouldn't even try.
It stands for "You're the man now, dog," by the way. It was TAKEN FROM A MOVIE. But I'm sure Sir Connery posed for the picture and gave the movie rights over to the site YEARS ago.
You are the definition of stupid.
Ouch LooBarlow, not more than 15 minutes after giving my definition of stealing do you respond with your comically ignorant nonsense. In case you somehow missed it the first time: "My pretty simple definition of stealing is thus: If my mentally handicapped
cousin could create the same YTMND, your site is stolen. "
So wait... your name is "idontvotethievery" because you don't like uncreative things!? Why isn't your name "idontvotelackofcreativity"? Why not "myfiveyearoldcouldhavemadethis"? You want to know why? Because you're stuck in a corner. The fact that you previously tried to post where this was "stolen" from, an action which has NOTHING to do with "creativity," and now and you can't even respond to simple counter-arguments about the entire site. Again: what an idiot.
"Let's see, Max took a line that was not intended to be funny and created an
entire cult around it." Hey guys, I found where you're the man now dog was stolen from! Get this, it's a MOVIE! Not hotair.com... not YouTube... but a whole MOVIE! Creativity my ass, you're trying to shift your argument because you realize your own stupidity.
""The deranged notion that I would believe taking anything from a movie, media, etc. would constitute as stealing is borderline offensive." What is offensive is believing anyone would buy this bullsh*t. You have no problem stealing from the media or from a movie, but you consider it stealing to take an internet image from a "flash video," from a YouTube video, or even an original sound recording from another source. Face it: either you're changing your argument or you're just a jackass.
"Please explain how Max wasn't creative when he registered the site
yourethemannowdog.com" Got it. So it doesn't matter if this video came from YouTube, HotAir, or any other source. You were just being an idiot earlier and you now admit that your earlier actions were, in your words, "borderline offensive." I would have to agree, as I can't think of a much stupider arugment to be making on this site.
I'm a little unclear as to whether you are a native speaker of english, hence our trouble communicating, so if I must continue to spell it out for you until it sinks in I will: YTMND is about creativity. When you take the work of others, and add nothing creative to it, you are stealing. Stealing = bad. Creativity = good. Be creative. Make something.
"Apparently stealing from Youtube is enough for a 5 these days. No more YTMND's from me. I'm through." "yeah oops, my bad, it was stolen from somewhere else. Please accept my sincere apology!" "Here's the real source of this YTMND:" "It's still stolen and belongs on Ebaumsworld, not YTMND." "I am admittedly clueless as to why anyone would stand up for such blatant thievery." "It would be one thing if you had happened to have been recording CNN at precisely the moment it occured."
In summary: you didn't give a sh*t about creativity, in your name or in your posts, until someone points out how utterly ridiculous what you're saying truly is. In that last quote you even admit that you would be fine with this if the guy had stolen it from CNN instead of YouTube (or whatever you think it came from.) That is the DEFINITION of shifting the argument because you have none. Again: what a f*cking idiot.
Hey downvote lemme get this straight, if I went onto MS Paint and drew a picture of a donkey getting raped by Dr. Phil that would be a good ytmnd because I was creative? No your logic is flawed, numorous people have made valid arguments stating the fact that there is a difference between humor and creativity, yes being creative is good, but if something is funny and was meant to be funny and people find it funny why are you going to get angry about the fact that it's not something they created 100%
"When you take the work of others, and add nothing creative to it, you are stealing." So let me get this straight: taking an intentionally awkward, out-of-character and funny clip from a movie and placing it with text and an image is different in WHAT way than this piece? YTMND was original because of its format and the website itself, not because it took a creative genius to play back a sound with something on a screen. (We've had those before: they're called movies.)
If everyone was as "creative" as your absurdly high standards expect we would all be accomplished musicians, artists, producers and so on and so forth, lighten the f*ck up and have a laugh instead of trying to be the, and I quote from nugget because he has you f*cking pegged, "self-righteous moral crusader"
By the way, downvote, I'm nobody's alt. What I am is a person who has a thing against seeing people make idiots out of themselves on the internet, especially in self-important and egotistical ways. I have almost a pathological desire to express my contempt for you. (Just like you have the same thing for "stolen" works!)
On the side, I get to counteract your douchery by adding my vote each time you respond.
IDT, I rarely disagree with you, but I do on this. I look at this as a classic style YTMND. Picture, sound, text and a singular focus. It may not be the most original site, but it far better than taking an image from collegehumor.com and adding price is right music. In it's own context here, it works.
