The plot as I understand it, is this: Max is the hapless head of the international Zionist banking conspiracy, a job that he hates but can't get out of because of a promise he made to his grandfather (as explained in the song "I Pomise You, Pop-Pop"). He takes a vacation to Louisiana and takes a lazy boat ride down the Mississippi River (singing the "Row Your Boat Medley"), where he meets up with local eccentric David Duke. They bond over their love of Casper the Friendly Ghost comics (with David singing "I
Love Casper But I Hate Spooks"), but each of them knows who the other really is, even though they try to hide it. Can their friendship triumph over adversity? David Schwimmer and Aaron Eckhart star in "Max: the Musical." Written by Neil Simon. Directed by Walter Bobbie. Produced by Emanuel Azenberg. Book by Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling. Music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. Musical Director: Ted Sperling. Music orchestrated by Bruce Coughlin. Dance arrangements by James Lynn Abbott.
