You forgot... 1 billion years the Sun turns into a Red Giant and and will rip off earths atomosphere. In 5 billion years the sun will burn consume earth as a Super Red Giant. In 10 billion years the Sun will die out. And then 10^150 years from now, Heat Death will occur and kill everything in the universe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_Death So tell me this... Will nature be able to solve any of the problems I have mentioned... Well guess what... Nature is doomed wheter we survive or not...
This is what would happen, another species would take over the planet and the parts of the food chain we greatly affect would burst into activity and what we have destroyed is what they require, meaning more demand then supply, then they would die out, leaving one part of the ecosystem gone. Since ecosystems are dependant on one another, it would domino and the world would still end. Oh yeah, and YTMND will be self sufficient and feed off our dead remains and exist as the rightful owner of the universe.
