Nice idea here. What program are you using to do this? Sounds like a MOD file, i remember they were used in amiga games. They only had 3 channel output. Left, right or both (middle). Yeah, NES only had the yellow and white RCA jacks. Really didn't bother me back them, not many of us even knew what stereo was... Thanks for the memories :)

no real effort. one can just open the NES music file in a NSF player, switch on stereo, then output this soundfile to a wav. the program does alll the work.

Sadly it's not that easy, limul123; all that would do is put the same track through both speakers. You may notice that original NES systems only have yellow and red output cables. As for how I managed to do this, I'll keep that a secret :)

My goodness... some of you downvoters have no idea how complicated making music in stereo is. It's NOT something a program can automaticly do for you (not to my knowledge). It's taking a song, filtering layer by layer and placing them either in both left and right, solely left, solely right, or some mix of that sort. No it's not hard like making a song... you CAN put it into a music program which will seporate the tracks for you, but you will need to manually set the stereo settings. nice work

NES music files are already seperated into different channels, you dont need to filter it yourself, so its not THAT hard.

You lie. There are other ways to improve MM2. Like, add the slide and charge to Mega Man's moves and allow people to skip through the annoying "get equipped with _____" scenes. There could be more, but that's all I can think of. =/
