See the "glimpse" YTMNDs work because they use real images, or at least what we can reasonably assume are real images. The cartoons don't help. I'm sure you can find some better electronmicroscopic images of synapses and things on google. maybe you'll have to do some editing for the words, but thats part of it, see?

Understandable but this pic http://neuro.med.harvard.edu/site/dh/23.jpg seems a bit too real. The cartoon drawings put it in Lamen's terms, so that anyone can see easily how a synapse works.

You've got a point, I just find cartoons and scientific subjects to be rather... silly. if the cartoons work for you though, more power.
