"We can only prey to the almighty lord that each one of them returns safely" i mean, the soldiers CHOSE to be there, because they are not drafted. so the only victim is the resistance.

Yeah. Muslim extremists make videos of them torturing and killing soldiers and civilians and set soundtracks to them. I f*cking hate them.

They didn't really choose to be there. A lot of them were in the army before the war started. And a lot of them had no choice. And a lot of them believed that they would be out of there a lot sooner.

Yes. Obviously. I have relatives there.

...10%, right? there is always the option to desert and join the Iraqi resistance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s88oHpybgE

Of course. What is your point, then? The Iraqi resistance fighters are also "choosing" to fight, if you want to generalize it like that.

well, those are the same dumb jocks i know from highschool, and they are there either because they cant pay for college, or because they believe what W says, or because they LIKE killing people, and dont wanna do it on their own time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4yrhSTRjDE . FYI I do NOT support the troops.

Well, that's a bit of a generalization. My relatives are over there because they want to help make things better, because Bush f*cked things up so badly. They aren't Republicans. They just hate seeing US soldiers get killed because of what is often caused by miscommunication with Iraqi civilians. And they also think that terrorists are deuschbags. You don't need to support Bush to think that.

one thing is to hate terrorists. another thing is to invade a weak country for the petty financial gain of a few people, kill 48,000 civilians (9/11 times 16) and then complain that "OMGZ THEY ARE SHOOTING AT US; why do they hate us :((( "

That's why my cousins want to fix things there. They know that Bush f*cked up. But they're not going to sit and watch it happen from their computers or breakfast papers.

seems to me that any soldier that goes to Iraq will be used as a free security guard for Halliburton's assets, paid for by my taxdollars. I have absolutely no desire to make Mr Cheney any richer than he is. At least his daughter is gay, so his bloodline will eventually die and be forgotten.

That's true, but it's only part of the picutre. Soldiers are doing beautiful and terrible things in Iraq, which are completely unrelated to Bush and Cheney. While Bush and Cheney are getting fat off the war, does that mean we should condemn our soldiers? I think not. I think you just have to realize that there is a balance here. No one is right in war. And no one is completely wrong, either.

My stance is, the American soldiers in Iraq are Nazi invaders, commander by radical Christians. Period. I give them no benefit of the doubt, no compromise. Either they stop fighting, or they are wrong. In Nazi Germany people did not speak up until it was too late. Well, since my vote in 2004 didn't count for much, I will speak my mind, and I don't give a f*ck whose mommy/daddy/baby/grandma is serving there. Get out, stop wasting my taxdollars. for $80bil a year, we could have just hired all Iraqi men.
