Jesus Christ on a stick.....I KNOW THIS STUFF ALREADY! I know that the person who did Doom's music was in a band and I know that he worked with people from other bands and I know that he said he got his inspiration from these bands and their songs. I KNOW THIS! I don't care about that. This site is just to show the similarities, so GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEADS!
BTW, that comment was to people who were DOWNVOTING because this is old or because the guy who did the music worked with bands. Not the people who were just casually saying it. There's a difference between informing me of that (even though I already knew) and downvoting me because of it. That comment went out to those idiots.
Imitation is the highest form of flattery. Great composers used to sample music from each other into their own orchestrations. Then again that was way back before the day of P-Diddy and his lack of musical creativity. I don't care if the Doom music was sampled from anything else. Its metal and it rocks. Period. I have an orchestrated version of E1M1 that I crank up in my truck. It rocks, and this comparison rocks as well. Good to know the Doom guys are keeping the music alive. Rock on.
This is the best compilation of Doom music comparisons. Very well-put together, very complete. I was surprised, though, coz usually "Master of Puppets" makes it in there somewhere. But who cares?
And it's amusing if not quite pathetic that people have lowered their votes because of the NEDM thing. HE'S PLAYING ON THE FACT THAT EVERYBODY HATES THE STUPID FAD, ASSTARDS!!!!!!
Metallica to id Software: I can has royaltiez now, pleez?
Someone pointed out one of the Pantera songs back when I played Doom 2, they just never specified which one. Nice work. All of these songs were "made" by Bobby Prince, and there are several sites about him getting "inspiration" from other bands and not really doing anything origiminalz, lol. Also cawkz!
