Astronaut Meets God

In my personal opinion, *most* religious thinking is moronic. Don't dare take this ytmnd as endorsement for any theistic ideas. Also, there is some symbolism involved with this, and that's basicly all I will say. And yes... this is meant to be funny.

lol @ Andar. To Whetstone: I am not an atheist. I am agnostic. Manicbomber: I know exactly what theism is. I also know what deism is, but I am not partial to either. Also, you claim to recognize some symbolism in this site yet you accuse me of not knowing the meaning of the word. But that's alright; I don't take it personal. Cheers.
"The ironic thing is most atheists still wouldn't believe in God if
they saw Him face to face. They'd still try to find some way to
rationalize." whetstone, why do you keep dissing us right to our face like this? Is it ok for us atheists to hold an opinion? And why group us like this, there are weak atheists and strong atheists. I'm a weak atheist for your information. God's existance can't be proven or disproven with any information we have at the moment. I'm beginning to dislike you, whetstone.
RawNuts: You're not an atheist. You're an agnostic like myself. You basicly described yourself that way perfectly. It's okay to say "I don't know" when it's something people have struggled with for thousands of years, unlike a theist or atheist who actually takes a position rather than admit they don't know...
This is awesome, nice work Arktis! I can't believe the comments I'm seeing from some very poor excuses for atheists/agnostics. This has absolutely nothing to do with anyone's belief (or not) in god. I'm an agnostic, and what I see here is a humorous take on what an astronaut might really say if they came face to face with a glowing, 9-story high bearded head. Yes, it resembles classical depictions of god. So what? Atheist or not, it's ingrained in all of us by media and popular mythology... much like Santa Claus. If you've downvoted this, and given favorable votes to any of those Santa-bot sites (for instance), you are both a hypocrite and a moron.
"This has absolutely
nothing to do with anyone's belief (or not) in god." On one level, anyway. On a different level (the symbolism to which Arktis referred), it is a clever commentary on the existence of god. Pokes fun at the ridiculous notion that "god exists through our faith alone, and that's why he doesn't show himself to us". Nonsense. He does just that, repeatedly, throughout the Old Testament. So where is he now? And why does he not just, for example, press his face up to one of our astronauts, or some other display which could settle the debate on his existence, which religion is right, etc. Again, nice work Arktis.
Wow... everyone... thanks. :) AceEbb: You've pretty much nailed me in some respects and missed off in others. The fun part for me is that I don't have to say which ones are which. :p SilentObserver: That's a very good quote and I am going to remember it for a long time. But something to think about is that the architect of said house can still visit the house... or maybe I am extending the analogy too far.
