Our galaxy is doomed
Sync works great in firefox. For perfect sync, you may need to press enter/click the go button (refresh works too, but less good.) Works pretty good in IE too. Sorry folks, it's been said before.. you can't sync a YTMND perfectly for everyone.

NEDM... really, not even doom music. This won't happen for billions of years. and by then, the sun will have gone super nova on us.
August 25th, 2006
(0)
except for the pardonable inaccuracy of any sort of catastrophic collision (which doesn't make an interesting ytmnd) this had lots of lulz.

Lol, doomed.

I'm pretty sure in 4 billion years our sun will have already turned into a RedGiant and swallowed up earth. In fact if the human race doesn't kill itself off by then the best course of action would be to build a planet sized space station with its own ecosystem, ect.
August 25th, 2006

firstshadow, i could say something along the lines of "it's a joke site, not to be taken seriously" but i think it would be a waste of time.

Funny but galaxies are so spread thin that they can pass through each other without colliding.
August 25th, 2006

haha, i give 3 for the "lol, galaxie part" and 2 for the rest but we'll be already dead and on another planet when this will be happening lol...maybe most of us will be on a planet on andromeda or milky way galaxie or still dead when this will be happening O_o

It's also sad that people can't see the joke behind this. Yeah, they'll collide, and things won't get even close to each other prolly, but why do we care about this here? Its a joke, obviously.
August 25th, 2006

lol durrrr... the colliding galaxys wont even cause any damage, besides the sun will have burned up its fuel and we wont even be around... kiddys need to learn to do thier homework before making ytmnds

Let's first work on keeping our sun burning, that burns out in 1 billion years
August 26th, 2006
(0)
the two galaxies will not really collide... the systems in each galaxy are so far apart there will be plenty of room for all the matter involved... but the galaxies will combine due to gravity to create a larger black hole in the center... that's about it, should be quite a show :)
August 26th, 2006
(0)
the funny part is that most likely, earth will never see a goddamned thing. the galaxies will just merge together. there's really far too much empty space to count on anything hitting us.

Awesome music too btw...
August 26th, 2006

Thats bullsh*t. There is so much distance between the stars of the galaxies that when they do come close not a single star will collide, much less a tiny planet.

haha pretty funny. EVen if andromeda moved that fast (maybe it does, idk) it's 2.2 million light years away. Thus if traveling at the speed of light (imagine cirling the equator in 7.5 seconds) it would take that many years to get there, I guess hence why at it's speed would take X billion years to hit us. Ok, it's a 5 no doubt. But wtf it has to do with scientology. And don't say it was paid by it. I'm guessing it's another "it really has nothing to do with it" thing. But if scientology is really preventing that galaxy crash, man that's the greatest reason to join it. I'd give my million bucks to it's funds right away.

true, but mass x velocity = momentum. there really isn't a f*cking thing we can do. maybe if we had a galaxy's worth of matter we could convert to energy at 100% efficiency... then it might be possible. otherwise G and momentum means we're f*cked. the milky way will experience a starburst, become irregular, and eventually clump together as an eliptical once all star formation has ceased.
