I prefer Daltonofzeal2's http://nesnotworking.ytmnd.com/ 'cause it carries the joke to the browser window itself.

You can buy one of those faketendos on ebay... that's what I did. It's basicly this nintendo emulating console that will take Us NES cartridges and foreign famicom cartridges, as well as pirated games. The only thing is mine doesn't take nes controllers or the light gun, but there might be one that does.

Sometimes after you blow in them, you can get them to *sorta* work, if you don't mind playing with extra garbage pixles. "Why does mario look like a pipe with a 3 for a face?"

Moistin a Qtip with rubbing alchohol and run it along both sides of the cartrige's circutry, then dry with another Qtip. Next, when you insert it, leave it just a hair not all the way in, so it barely scrapes the inside of the front casing when you push it down. Guarenteed to work.

You've got to take out the cartridge...blow on it...tap the top 5 times. Stick it back in. Open the lid and close it 5 times. Press the reset button 53 times. Unplug the controllers and plug them back in. After that it should work fine.

yeah blowing inside the machine and inside of the game helps alot. Also, try pressing reset a few times. My Nintendo still works about 50% of the time. For not taking care of your system I must fail you.

Blowing in NES cartridges is the ABSOLUTE MOST DESTRUCTIVE THING you can do to them. Moisture + Bacteria + Copper Contacts = OXIDATION AND GREEN MOLD. Sure moisture bumps up the conductivity ONCE or TWICE, but in the long run it totally ruins them. If you have UBER oxidized contacts, try dipping some cheap dollar store SCOTCH BRITE pads in 90% (or higher) isopropol alcohol and rubbing back and forth across the contacts (both sides) till they work. Once the game works, just use a lint free cloth + alcohol.
August 18th, 2006
(0)
If that doesn't work... a US NES VERSION "NEO FAMICOM" is only about $20 on eBay and works with all the original NES controllers and accessories. (Not to mention they have AV outputs!)
August 18th, 2006
(0)
You need 1) One of those ear swab thingies... 2) a bottle of alcohol... 3) a nes cartiage...

I played that song my senior year of highschool. It's a beautiful piece.
August 18th, 2006

Just buy a new connection pin for your NES and it'll be good as new. Blowing in it is useless and the reason why it "works" is because you took out the cart and you put it back in so it realligned with the worn out pin correctly.
August 18th, 2006
(0)
thats actually a performance of the song that i'm in =)

Q-tips and rubbing alcohol is a cure-all when it comes to game cartraiges. You won't beleive some of the gunk you can get out of those.

Blow the cartridge, push the cart in but make it so that you have to clip the plastic in the back of the cart against the bottom of the openning of the system. Blow WARM air into the cartridge, moist warm air will always do the trick. Alchohol on a Q-tip and then over and under the chip in your cart also is a fix. Open the system and clean it with canned air. n00bs nintendo was my LIFE!

I love it.
August 18th, 2006

Blowing is stupid. With the cart still in the NES pressed down just slightly nudge it to one side and hit reset. Try this a couple times and the game will start up.

The worst is when it reads like the first two seconds of the start up screen so you think you're going to get to play your game, then it glitches the screen and sends you into the first ever YTMND loop.

You have to venture down the forest path which leads through the depths of the Black Forest and then through the webs of the spiders and out onto the plains of desolation, crossing the desert of al'bazu. Then you have to retrieve the water jewel from the clutches of the miniature pipo fish in the single oaisis in the middle of the desert. Then you need to travel back to the mountains of emporia and find the single cave opening in the side of the granite rock face, and once inside you must cross gap of

For some resion, Game Genie helps. I don't know why, but my friend's NES only works if you take the top of the case off, plug the game into Game Genie, and plug the Genie into the cartridge holder.

As you use cartriges, the NES' pins to interface with it get bent away from the carts' contact points. Bend them back outwards and you'll be fine.
