For photo editing, I recommend Adobe Photoshop (expensive) or Gimp (free). For gif creating/editing, Adobe Imageready (expensive, but f*ckin' awesome) or perhaps Animation Shop (cheaper). There are probably a couple more good editors that I either forgot or I'm not aware of.

A nice tutorial, but they can work it even further by smoothing the areas where the photos "connect" so you don't wind up with that clipped drop-off area that goes by. Ya know?

I have no idea what you just did there (consider my use of Paint Shop Pro 9 above MS Paint to be non-square selections & transparent layers for things like the PTKFGS logo... I'm very much a copy/paster) but I definitely need to tag this for when I make a liquid in motion in a future YTMND.

lol yeah i just zoomed in real far and shot the frame from one end to the other rele fast, and then repeated it. :) if u use aftereffect dont forget to use the wiggler, JIGGA WIGGA
