I have supported some megatarded fads on YTMND. Cosby was cool. Cake was silly but fun. "Shoe on Head" was ridiculous, but funny in its own special way. NEDM, well, I never got into, but it was tolerable. This "war," however, against MySpace users who are just using the SAME image from another site that the YTMNDers used... it's a pointless bandwagon. It does nothing to help YTMND, and in fact it makes YTMND look "bad" because we're now the "aggressors."
This YTMND obviously took effort... and technically it's well-done. However, I can't support a "war" with no purpose which does nothing but give YTMND needlessly negative publicity. I honour YTMND for its support of artistry, its irreverant comedy, and sometimes for its outright weirdness... but I can't support this. This "war" is something that makes me embarrassed to be a YTMND fan.
"You idiots should try reading the "downvoter's" comments. Guys, this isn't
some "evil" corporation stealing things on the internet and placing their
watermark on it, nor is it a dangerous cult. We had no right to do this,
because the image wasn't even ours. You all make me sick." The guy claims he created it and sells sh*t
I think I will have to downvote this for great reason. Okay, so the person trademarks "Rude Kitty" which is an obvious inversion of HappyCat. But the person claims to have been doing this for a year. NEDM didn't start til earlier this year so s/he probably got it from SA. The cat and everything about it is FREE DOMAIN, but I don't agree with the trademarking they did. Still...this person probably didn't deserve this kind of reaction/stress from us. 1 for bad impressions.
This is nice and all...but since Happy Cat has been around before YTMND appropriated him for NEDM (did you guys think WE created that image??)I'm not going to vote on any HappyCat Vs. RudeKitty stuff till somebody does something REALLY smart & clever with it. (I'm not going to downvote any of them either.)
However, I'll add another star because I reread this person's post on myspace. S/he called this upon themself, because well, if you call someone who spends most of their time online a turd, you better know your shizzah. Still, you can't erase the smell of f*ggotry from this no matter how hard you scrub.
