The Dangers of Honoring Disney...
Yeah, Disney does this to pretty much all its movies, but the Oscar-nominated Lilo & Stitch seems to have been milked harder than anything. Gotta be careful with Disney...

It's (sadly) funny because it's true. Disney has about as much respect for the few good films they manage to make as..someone who doesn't have respect for something...
July 15th, 2006

just assume they're crap and don't watch them...why aren't they allowed to make money? (you should really be hounding Disney for keeping Song of the South away for so many years)

I've pretty much hated Disney ever since they fired all their insanely good Japanese animation studios - leaving us with the shoddily drawn garbage they have today.

I'm so f*cking tired of disney making nothing but CGI movies now. All it is is 3D talking animals doing stupid sh*t. WHERE'S THE NEXT LITTLE MERMAID/ALADIN/LION KING/MULAN/EMPORER'S NEW GROVE?!?!?!
July 19th, 2006

Um, what's wrong with the series and finale movie? They were awesome.

Ever noticed that Disney makes all of its sequels "direct-to-video"? (with the exception of Toy Story 2?
July 19th, 2006
(0)
thank god they never do it with pixar stuff, except toy story.
(0)
It's a shame, I loved Lilo and Stitch, and Bambi, and 101 Dalmations, and Lady and the Tramp, and The Little Mermaid, and The Lion King, etcetera ad nauseum. The final nail in the coffin will be a sequel to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (their first movie ever).

I hate what Disney has become. If Walt Diseny himself came back to life right now and saw Phil of the Future with the Disney name on it, he'd smoke himself to death again.

While Walt Disney was alive (this is a known fact that I saw on Cast TV), he did NOT want to make ANY sequel to ANY movie... "You can't top pigs with pigs" -- Walter Elias Disney, after being asked if he would make a sequel of 3 Little Pigs
July 19th, 2006
(0)
They don't sell Song of the South in the USA anymore because of the NAACP. And they've made Cinderella 2, with the same premise as Princess Diaries 2. But if they DID make a Snow White 2, I'd tell the members of Hezbollah that Bush is talking about their moms!
July 20th, 2006
(0)
One of many reasons why I hate disney. They limit their shows to 64 episodes (unless they're serious sh*t like thats so raven, then it goes beyond that) If it is good, they made a sh*tty sequel. Bambi 2 was on the shelves for 90 days before going to the disney vault.
July 20th, 2006

I logged on just to rate this, disney is gay with sequals they need to shut the f*ck up with them sequals.

They make money from it, that's all that really matters. If you were in the same position wouldn't you want to make some extra money from merchandising? Of course you would.
July 20th, 2006
(0)
It seems that in pratically all the disney sequels, the villain from the previous movie is reduced to a mild annoyance or is even a friendly character.
July 20th, 2006

This is so true. I really hate what Disney has become =(
(0)
I'm bracing myself for "Pirates Of The Carribean: The Animated Series." (that is, if it doesn't already exist.)
July 20th, 2006
(0)
They even put Stitch with Mickey and friends for the 2006 merchandise at Disney World and it hasn't been selling all that well. That and Stitch's Great Escape was a crappy replacement to something really cool (Alien Encounter). I like Lilo and Stitch, but they really overdid things.
July 20th, 2006
(0)
Stitch rocks. Besides, there are worse offenders.. aren't we up to the 13th "Land Before Time" now?
July 20th, 2006
(0)
Agree... Disney needs to invest their money on a new movie than use it on dumb sequels... but I can see a point in making TV shows based on movies.

Well,it's funny because it's true. However,I liked the first and second movie(yeah,I like both,I don't care)...but however Disney loves milking out properties. Someone said about a POTC animated series:rofl. Also, goo goob ga joob!

No, L&S has in fact been milked just as hard as every Disney movie. Point nullified.

How dare they capitalize on a popular franchise. It's like they're just in it for the money or something.

I say they hire me. I'll animate the most vulgar animated movie theyve ever released, and Disney would rock again. Yes. Disney loves to milk its franchises for all theyre worth. Theyre a super corporation with little care for quality. I just wish I knew this when I was five; I wouldnt have been their bitch.

The last Disney masterpiece I would say is Toy Story. After that movie, it all went to hell. Now every single Disney movie is either a lame *ss sequel or a crappy 3d movie. If they get some new ideas and try going back to hand drawn animation, I might actually see another Disney film.

Holy pie. I wasn't expecting this to actually become popular XD To reply to some of the comments...Toy Story 2 was going to be direct-to-video, but Pixar overrode it...Meat Loaf DOES rock...and even if the movies and series are decent (for any Disney product), this is all in four years! I especially like how L&S2 is actually the third movie XD Oh, and they're now making Cinderella III and Fox and the Hound II. WHAT NEXT???
July 20th, 2006
(0)
If you want milked, see Land Before Time. That was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid (the original one) and it got milked the sh*t out of. I have no idea how many sh*tty-ass sequels they made of it. Made me so angry.
July 20th, 2006
(0)
Also, if you recall, none of this happened with any of the GOOD Disney movies of years past. I'd go out on a limb and say that Aladin, Lion King, and Mulan were the last good movies that Disney Animation has done, before the era of crappy rehashes and sequels.
