FunkyM, It's going to cost a lot more than just £300. $599 USD converts to £325 anyway, but if you look at console prices in the US and compare them to UK ones we always get screwed. Current PS2 price in the US is (wiki'd) $130 so it should cost us £70, but we're paying just over £100 and If you look at launch prices for the xbox and ps2 we were paying £299 when it was $299 in the US.
1) Average consumer should only buy the $499 version. The only thing someone wouldn't be able to upgrade on the $499 version is the HDMI, which most people can't use anyway.
2) The games will cost between $50-$60. Not $100. That comment misunderstanding comes from people reading only HALF of an interview.
3) That guy needs testosterone.
I happen to enjoy playing xbox, but I'm no fanboy. This is a bunch of legit concerns aired by a lunatic. How many games have you bought and only played for a month? At $600 for the system and up to $100 a game? I'm 25 and I don't see how I'd afford a ton of games. I can't imagine being 15 and wanting a ps3
Damn screamers...but in all fairness, the kid's got a point. But as with all next-gen video game systems, I'd prefer to just wait until all the glitches are worked out (PS2) and for a decent library to stack up.
If the PS3 is up to par, then sure I'll get it. I think the PS3 will either be a huge flop (most likely) or big success in the young adult department which is what I believe they're marketing toward unlike Nintendo which still markets mostly to a general audience.
