Hey ratard, where does it say the RIAA sentenced the rapist? This is an instance of the government saying pirates are worse than pedophiles. Those two excepts were unrelated. That's like showing some text of a guy who got sentened to jail for a year for stealing rat poison and then another except from a recent cybersex adventure. Totally f*cking irrelevant.
Your point still doesnt prove anything. If the maximum jail time is UP TO 3 years with $10,000 fine, you arent likely to get any jailtime, you will more than likely just pay fines. The difference between jailtime and paying fines is a TREMENDOUS difference. If you can find me a case where a file sharer has spent more than 6 months behind bars then i will QFT right now.
You know I hate the RIAA as much as the next guy, but when was the last time you've seen someone go to jail for 3 years for file sharing? Furthermore, you can make all kinds of comparisons between prison sentences, but ultimately the sentence is up to a judge."Oh those guys at Enron got life sentences but this guy was only in prison for 20 years for murder." Yawn. Oh and baby raper is going to have a more difficult time in prison than Mr. File swapper

I love how you can say capitalism is responsible for all the problems in the world as you sit in the richest country on Earth using your AT&T broadband on your Dell computer to hurl criticisms at a political/economic system whose alternative (communism) would have you put in jail on suspecion of even thinking any sort of criticism. oh, and to those who say "true communism was never used" I reply, communist theory calls for a "temporary" suspension of human rights and political freedoms in order to bring down the ruling class.
