Eh, kinda lame. If you want music and movies, just get a job like 90% of the adult population and buy it yourself. That's how our society works, you want something - you get off your lazy *ss and earn it. However, I do think most scientific information and old literature should be free to the public on the internet. (since it is at the library anyway)
In defense of piracy though, it USUALLY doesn't hurt the artist - in fact, it has been shown that internet piracy is a good form of advertising. Many people are introduced to new music and movies on the net, and buy more products by a musician, director, actor, etc.. when they go shopping. (which inevitably happens, since we can't find everything online)
