Nicely done, BUT you completely forgot about the large number of paratroopers that took part in the invasion! Not exactly remembering now is it?

Remember the people, not the site

June 6th, 2006

its not for ytmnd gain its for R-E-S-P-E-C-T

This is a historic date, an event that should be remembered for eons. I am impossibly grateful for what those men did so people like us could live the free lives we do now. However, there's already like, 5 of these sites, and in my humble opinion, this is not what YTMND is for. I hope you all at least consider my reasoning as you're downvoting my sites.
June 6th, 2006

Hes not using mens' deaths to make a ytmnd. He's using mens' deaths to make you remember about the sacrifice they made and why we are here today. Fyi, my great uncle died during D-day, Omaha Beach. And my other great uncle was hit by a kamikaze attack. Nicely done, Amras.

Oh, and if you made this just to get an inevitably high rating, (which is a strong possibility), I hope you get paralyzed in a car crash. Hopefully this isn't the case.
(0)
Thank you for having the class to make a YTMND like this. Thank you for honouring all those that fought for freedom, not just you Americans, but the British, and my fellow Canadians, all of which took part in that battle. I salute you sir.

I'm not tryin to use death's of americans for my site, nor to try and upgrade it. I tried to dedicate this for my Grandpa who served this war and was on the Beaches of Normandy. I also agree with your reason Evil, but I just want people to remember how we got part of are freedom.

And that's nice but it's not what YTMND is for.

well too bad some people actually care about their country

Amras, I'm glad to hear it. I upped my vote to a 3 because this felt genuine and I couldn't live with 1-starring this.

5'd for showing the proper respect. And for the *ssholes who downvoted because they think he's just trying to make a high-rated YTMND, well, I think he's just showing respect in the best way he can. It's better than what you did, you lousy dickwads. Good job, man.
(0)
Not what ytmnd is supposed to be used for... but still pretty good... Nice use of Band of Brothers music :D

retartedn****rf*ggot, you can't be a republican and a hippy, stupid. Hippies were not even part of the society, if they were they were part of the liberal side. And I hope you goto hell. kthxbai

Some of you guys are so ***ed up. MUgen, you are being closed minded, you took it into your mind of what you believed he meant and then wouldnt allow yourself to hear anything else.
June 6th, 2006

Amras is only showing proper respect to the troops. Besides for everyone who has downvoted, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO SHOW RESPECT? Stop your whining about how good the rating is and show some damn respect.

DONE. BEFORE.

This will be my last comment, but I've seen my grandpa cry when he tried to tell me what happened at age 7. Some stuff was really brutal on the Beaches.I also will not speak of some stuff they did on those beaches, it might be very Disgusting to some of you. I just would like to have people respect what these men tried to do. Thanks, Amras.

Ytmnd’s don’t always have to be funny, that’s what the other 10,000,000 ytmnd’s are for, this one actually means something of importance. Even if you didn’t live through D-day or know anyone that did, this is still something you should take notice of.

You know, reading the comments of some of the less mature people here, it's sad. Regardless of whether you like it or not, whether it's funny or not, whether it's been done before or not, whatever your nation and/or political beliefs are, this is the sincere work of one person trying to honor those who fell to fight a monstrosity that captured Europe sixty years ago. This is showing respect, something apparently many of you are not familiar with.

Not everything that happened on D-Day was on the beach...PARATROOPERS? Also, there is no such thing as the beach of Normandy...BEACHES of Normandy.

Even though it isn't much and it won't do anything to bring back the lost thank you for taking time out of your day to honor those who fought for all of our freedom

They should be remembered but that doesn't change the fact that this doesn't belong on YTMND.

lmao, why the hell is this getting upvoted? it has nothing to do with respect. is ytmnd for entertainment...?
(0)
*cries*
(0)
f*ck you projectswift, he's not "using men's deaths in order to make a good ytmnd." He's making this to honor them. Read a description once in a while. I'm pretty sure he wasn't hoping to get on the top 15 with this. If you don't like it, don't like it, but don't attack someone who's trying to be a nice person.
June 8th, 2006

I really need to make one on the diepe raid. That was a horrible idea, and should be looked into. Nobody carews thought because it was candains who died (by the fault of the british).
June 8th, 2006

great and all, but what about the OTHER people in WW2 that fought, why dont they get remembered?

I was half expecting a screaming face, but its just a real tribute
June 8th, 2006
(0)
and you know what, Im giving it a 3, because: A) Its been done B) Why am I facist if I give it below a 4? Those people faught their war, won it and are back home. How about OUR TROOPS OVER IN IRAQ? Or the troops in Vietnam who are forever scared for life? D-day was day the will live in infamy...not a fad.

hey project swift, what he did was respectable and reverent to the soldiers so STFU! If it weren't for these men we would be speaking German or become a lampshade.

I'm pretty sure a lot of the men there were Canadians. Also, this is what Rememberance Day is all about, remembering things like this.
