Russia was the main force behind the victory over Nazi Germany. The Allies in the west were not needed.

President Funny, you are a f*cking liar. The Russians were one factor, the others were: failure to defeat Britain in 1941, The Americans joining the war and being so damn rich they could supply everyone, and the fact that we were still able to take Oil through the Suez Canal. Merry Christmas, free history lesson. Oh, and this YTMND really got to me. Thank you, Mr Roosevelt. Or Truman. Whoever it was.

Russia was the main force in the final defeat of Nazi Germany. The Allies in the west, on D-Day, were not needed.

Not true. Russias Red Army was mighty and strong. We came out of that little war as a rightful superpower. But the west did alright. I will give them that. But never forget the overwelming might of the Red Army. The true enemy of the Nazis.

Oh yes. The Russians that signed the Non-Aggression pact and left Eurpoe to the Nazi's were the true heros of the war. The people that got thier *ss kicked until Germany, fighting a two front war, ran out of steam. Of course...

Russia did much. But they couldn't have fought the entire Wermacht on their own.

The last war I see fit to fight. This was back when war was war, and you actually fought. Not like today, where you kill 100's people miles away with the push of a button. WWII was a real reason to go to war. Thank you for making this.

Nice for the Americans, but it was the French and English forces who stood on the frontline; your soil was barely touched, only ocean conflicts with the Japanese. Also, Crusade? Jeez. They sure know how to play Religion in the USA.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that D-Day wasn't needed, but it's clear that Russia bore the brunt of the Nazi assault. According to wikipedia, Russia suffered 10 million military casualties (and another 11 million civilians); America suffered 400,000, UK 382,000. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_casualties#Casualties_by_country). Bottom line is, we let Russia duke it out with the Nazis in hopes that they would weaken each other, then once victory was assured, landed at D-Day to ensure American

hegemony over Western Europe. Frankly, it's not surprising to me that the Russians hated us so much after WWII; we left them to the dogs and moved only when it was clear that we could gain territorial advantage.

Enough with the Rambo fantasies, already. Enlist, if you dig the military so much. Otherwise, if it's not funny, don't submit it. Sheesh.

All of you f*cktards that are giving this 1 stars because it's not funny should all be shipped out of this country if you live here. Mainly because you don't understand nor appreciate what all WW2 veterans faught for. It's because of them that we all have the freedoms that we do. I'm sure one day you will understand this when our country is in danger because it's being run by retards like you .

In September 1939, after concluding the nefarious Non-Aggression Pact with Nazi Germany in the previous month [thereby facilitating Hitler's aggression against Poland], she proceeded to occupy the eastern part of the country alloted to her in the Pact's secret protocol. For the next 22 months, food supplies and raw materials were delivered to Germany in accordance with trade agreements.
June 7th, 2006
(0)
Forget where I found that reference. Regardless, yeah, the Russians were instrumental in Germany gaining the power that it did early on. If the Red Army had attacked at the onset, WW2 could have been avoided almost entirely.
June 7th, 2006

After the attempted alliance with Germany, so what if we let them duke it out. The USSR would have been perfectly content ruling half the world if the Nazi's hadn't turned on them, and I think we all know it. Quit being retarded and attempting to rewrite history. The Soviet Union, especially in WWII was NOT a force of good.
June 9th, 2006
(0)
and if I may add, the Red Army's weapons (guns, tanks, etc.) were inadequate and in short supply, it is only because of two factors that the Russians were able to kick the German 3rd Army's ass. The first.) America and Great Britain started the lend lease act enabling the Soviets to fight. The Second.) The brutal Russian winter compounded the effects of the Lend-Lease act and gave the Russians a true home-turf advantage.
June 9th, 2006

Not to mention the fact that the Germans screwed themselves over by over extending their supply lines and failing to properly equip most troops fighting on the Eastern Front.

"Nice for the Americans, but it was the French and English forces who stood on the frontline; your soil was barely touched, only ocean conflicts with the Japanese. Also, Crusade? Jeez. They sure know how to play Religion in the USA." WHAT THE F*CK! You are an ass*hole! While the English may have played major roles in Northern Europe and Eastern Africa, they did almost squat compared the Americans when it comes to taking Italy and Southern Europe. And while the Free-French and the Resistance were crucial,
June 9th, 2006

it would be obvious to an amoeba that they could not have defeated Germany by themselves! I will give you credit when you say continental America was not attacked, but saying "only ocean conflicts"?! Here are a few names to jostle your memory: Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Iwo Jima, Okinowa, sound familiar? And about Americans not being on the frontlines? WHAT THE HELL IS THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE THEN!!!!! I suppose the Germans magically were able to attack the Americans who were behind the English

and French lines without engaing the either army, and then the Americans ran out of supplies because all of the supplies are kept close to the frontlines and were not accesable to the American troops in the rear areas. Wow, you really are a f*cktard, maybe you shouldn't have slept through history class. Oh, and as for crusade, Websters dictionary states that a crusade is, " a remedial enterprise undertaken with zeal and enthusiasm" therefore the use of the word crusade has no religious meaning whatsoever

Man, it really irritates me when people try to make WWII into a contest over which country was better. Russia, Britain, and France were all very vital in gaining victory in Europe, the absence of any one of them could mean we'd all be speaking German right now. And quite honestly, without the US's involvment, D-day might not have occured, and the Allies may not have been victorious at all. And although the US didn't have as much involvment in Europe, they took the entire brunt of the Japanese forces in

No. While it was a very smart thing for the US to do (let Russia and Germany duke it out), that was not the reason we stayed out until the end. ....... We entered so late b/c of the fact that Pearl Harbor was bombed late.
