a REAL 4d object (sped up animation, 3rd try at fixing loop)
The 4D Block thing in the Top 15 was annoying me since it's not true 4D. THIS is 4D. (well, close enough)

Almost as confusing as the tomahawk missle. The older faces of the cubes are telling me to go one way, while the younger faces are telling me NO, NO, go not over there........im just gonna leave it be before it fully dominates my mind.

Projecting four dimensions on a two-dimensional plane can lead to complications. Just so you know.

No, there is no 4th dimension in space. Only 3. If you want to add a fourth (like time), try depicting it with a gradient color scale

Enjoyably trippy and impossible. Though, please do cite your music; we know all you did was trim a bit around the edges of "someone else's" song. ^_~

what u r all seeing is a 4dinensinal hypercube(basickly a rotaring cube in 4dimensions)
April 30th, 2006
(0)
In real life of course...
April 30th, 2006
(0)
This isn't a four dimensional block. Like someone said earlier, a 4-D block would have 3 spatial dimensions and 1 other dimension. A colour gradient is an excellent idea.
April 30th, 2006
(0)
That one makes sense.
April 30th, 2006
(0)
this is what we call a hypercube. basically it's a cube with four vectors eminating from each point instead of three. they could be created in a graphing program somewhat easily.
April 30th, 2006
(0)
The fourth Dimension is Time, you fools!! To make an object in 4D, you'd have to show an elapsation of time.
April 30th, 2006
(0)
The 4th physical dimension would have to be perpendicular to the X, Y, and A axes. This really isn't. But it's still cool.
April 30th, 2006
(0)
The fourth dimention is time. However, this is showing 4 spacial dimentions, which is a real-world impossiblility, but something that can be computer generated, since it can exit mathematically. You will never see a true hypercube in real life.

I really just needed a YTMND for the audio. D:
April 30th, 2006
(0)
and sorry for the mistake. I meant to say that I made that loop.
April 30th, 2006
(0)
Even if you're saying the 4D is time, then yes, this is a 4D object. 3 spatial dimensions, and the transformation and rotation you're watching is the shape's progression of movement over time.
April 30th, 2006
(0)
The definition of an N-Dimensional 'cube' is that it has N orthogonal vectors emiting from the same point.
April 30th, 2006
(0)
In reality, the maximum limit is 3 (a cube), but there is no such limit mathematically. A 4-D cube projected onto a 2-D surface
April 30th, 2006
(0)
is just as valid as a 3d cube with the same projection. This has been your higher-level math lesson for the day.
April 30th, 2006
(0)
This is a REAL 4-dimensional cube. Good job!
(0)
im 5ing this cause its cool, even though you dissed my site and didn't even make the gif. btw to slow it down open in flash or a gif program and change the framerate.
(0)
Also, this one is even harder to comprehend than mine. But the fact that it's moving eliminates the 4d/3d ambiguity mine had.

it's impossible to experience 4 dimentional objects without 4 dimentional sight fools. This hypercube is merely a 3D rotating cross section of the whole 4D thing

"it's impossible to experience 4 dimentional objects without 4 dimentional sight fools. This hypercube is merely a 3D rotating cross section of the whole 4D thing" lol, if you think like that I can say the image is actually 2d because your screen is flat

Since we only have a 2D retina, we can only inept in 3D. However, in robotics, a 3D retina has been developed. I wonder what it would be like to inept the 4th dimension...

You wouldn't expect anyone here to have even the slightest grasp of String Theory. Definitely wasted on knowledgeless hacks. Could any one of you imagine that the hyper cube is all instances of a cube in any given time represented in third dimension? No. Try wrapping your head around the tenth dimension: http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=4280922161474483340&sourceid=zeitgeist It has a pretty good synopsis on all the dimensions leading up.

1. Time is not a proven 4th dimension. 2. Acording to string theory as it is now a particle can only exist in 3 dimensions simultaneously by attaching itself via "strings" to the branes of the dimension.
January 7th, 2007
(0)
Which means we could have an object existing in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th dimensions, which I find harder to conceptualize than a truly 4-d object.
January 8th, 2007
(0)
"Since we only have a 2D retina, we can only inept in 3D. However, in robotics, a 3D retina has been developed. I wonder what it would be like to inept the 4th dimension..." Having two 2d retinas allows us to see in 3d?

its not 4d its just stupid
January 8th, 2007
(0)
WRONG. this is a 2d object. show me one in real life and ill believe you.
January 8th, 2007
(0)
Id say 4th dimension is time, since its the only perceivable thing that could be considered another dimension. If you take it as one WXYZ coordinate, as being a XYZ coordinate at a particular moment in time. Representing 4D in 3D is eqivilent to linking 2 Cubes together, in reality the cubes would be in exactly same space, just at another time. Maybe a 3D imagery at different times superimposed ontop of each other could more accurately represent 4D like that.
