Chernobyl 20 Years(fixed speed)
I put this together using these sources. The "WTF Russia" is in there because it is a YTMND, I know it does take away from the mood. Removed Opinion Section. Chernobyl Heart (HBO Documentary) Disaster at Chernobyl (Discovery Channel) www.elenafilat

Spied this on Worthwhile YTMND's. I didn't know any of that. This site is a comedy site, but a little real world doesn't hurt. I can see why this is a Worthwhile YTMND! :D WTF Russia does knock it a little off Kilter, but as you said, this is YTMND!

The only problem with nuclear power is people like you, and Greenpeace. You should be shot. Take a physics class, f*ggot.

the worst nuclear disaster in history; its consequences pale compared to what fossil-fuel power plants put out during _normal operation_

it will remain a 1, for as long as you are aknowledging Greenpeace as any sort of information source. Also, I suppose Three Mile Island was caused by Communism as well. I want household nuclear reactors - now.

hey icn, Greenpeace is a part of the story just like Hitler is a part of World War 2. I have stated the reasons why communism is listed as one of the causes above. My arguments are a bit more thought out than your "f*g" comments of earlier.

what exactly ARE your arguments, you glorious heterosexual? That a map of barely measurable increases of Caesium-137 means the end of the world? A modern nuclear power plant releases half as much radiation into the environment as an adult oak tree.

Once again you think I'm some greenpeace hippy, and that I am against Nuclear Power. Your mind is as small as your c*ck. Go research the incident and research 3 mile again cause you are failing at life here.

Comparing the natural decay of a tree is not considering the fact that we are talking about an accident not a fully functional, well built and highly maintained nuclear power plant.

Well, then change the ytmnd to a happier mood. Because I don't see how THIS crap makes people want MORE nuclear power.

The Soviet Union was not Communist, it was ruled by the Communist Party which strove to work towards a Communist society. Communism does not equal nuclear technology, and is not to blame. Please fix your mistake.

I enjoy serious, yet informational YTMND's. They are part of what makes this site great. F*ck everyone else who thinks that this site is only for "teh funny." People need to be informed of what is going down in the world, and not just surf this site looking up hentai sh*t to try and escape reality like most of these f*ckers.

Nuclear power is safe. When not in the hands of imbeciles. This proves the point.

Really Really informative and interesting. I'm glad to see not everyone is outright bashing your sight for being thoughtful and actually thought provoking instead of meaningless jokes. No offense. It is a site steeped mostly in humor (with a surprising amount of politics mixed in) but just because it's not a blatantly absurd mockery or joke doesn't mean it's bad. (also I enjoyed the 'WTF Russia" part. Mixing alittle humor in with tragedy is what makes the world a great place IMHO)

Great site, and much more informative than mine. And here I thought I was the first one to make a site about Chernobyl. What an ignorant assumption that was.

I agreed with all of it except the "Communism/Bureaucracy" thing as a reason. Bureaucracy != communism. Every single capitalist country in the world has hundreds of layers of bureaucracy as well, the US being one of the most complex. Second, how did Marxist-Leninism create the disaster anymore than capitalism caused the Three Mile Island incident or the Hurricane Katrina disaster? Good job though anyway. It's creepy to see that ghost town. Have you heard of the "Red Forest" nearby?

They are starting to think now that the steam explosion cause 500 tons of radioactive mats into the atomosphere with the worst radionuclides being celsium-137, iodine-131, strontium-90. They had heavy rains in the following days which bought it al down in scattered places.
